Ale Aged in Kentucky Bourbon Barrels
I awake from a slumber that’s been anything but peaceful. I don’t take kindly to idling and I am anything but neutral. Life has nothing to do with killing time, and the knowledge that months have passed since the onset of my sequestering in this pitch-black oaken tomb (albeit a barrel flush with brilliant aromas of vanilla and char) does not sit well. But then comes a tingle followed by rejuvenating warmth, signs that something is different…something has changed…and for the better.
I feel stronger yet somehow more nimble and refined. I feel even more self-assured, and my vision for what is good and right, honest and true, is as laser-sharp as the brawny, bawdy, liquid Arrogance that shall further advance my battle against all things mediocre and geared toward the lowest common denominator. I have been born anew and, in the process, anointed with vibrant, inspiring, previously unexperienced character, all while maintaining everything I am and have always been—bold, bullish, unadulterated, and yes, Arrogant.
Are you Worthy of quaffing a beverage of this intensity, irreverence and quality craftsmanship? Not likely, but for those who “get it,” I know my time in this bourbon barrel has not been wasted. Cheers to you, enlightened imbiber. On second thought, cheers to me!

12oz bottle pours a murky, caramel brown with lots of frothy, lacing, slightly off white head. Nose had an odd vegetal note straight from the bottle, opens up with a lot of wet/rotting wood, caramel, some stale bread/grist, a little fruit cake. Flavor is a little bit better, some brown sugar, caramel, a little vanilla, very light wood, bread. Full bodied but mostly dry. Lost some character in the larger production run, I bet.

Bottle: Pours cloudy, dark brown with a small beige head. Caramel, woody bourbon aroma. Taste is a dry, caramel malt and more barrel than bourbon..... Stronger flavor than scent.....earthy/herbal hops. Ok, but thin on the bourbon notes.

Bottle. Copper beer with a dark cream head. Bourbon and caramel backing aroma with PNW hops. Bourbon and grapefruit flavor with pine. Medium bodied. Grapefruit and pine linger with light caramel and light bourbon. Bourbon starts off and gives way to hops. Good balance between the two.

12 oz. Bottle thanks to T. j. Thank buddy! Deep Amber color with thick foamy head. Aroma is mild, toasted grain, dark fruits and a toffee / caramel aroma.
Where the hell is the bourbon? It tastes like the regular Arrogant Bastard. Slick, oily mouthfeel. Sweet lingering malts taste. Light lingering oak but no bourbon. Good beer but not what is advertised.

Poured from bottle nice amber color with a nice foamy off white head. Aroma is very malty. Taste is mildly sweet and I am not getting any barrel aging at all.

12oz bottle. Thanks TJ. dark reddish brown pour. Good aroma, very malty, a bit thinner than regular Arrogant. The bourbon is very subdued. Did this spend 2 weeks in barrels? malty, almost astringent with a little vanilla. good mouthfeel. not memorable.

Pours dark reddish brown with a small head. Aroma of berries, wood, oak, toffee, syrup and caramel. Taste is malty, woody and caramely with some toffee, oak, vanilla and syrup. Finish is heavy, sweetish and stuffy with loads of caramely malts, toffee, hops and hints of oak. A bit unbalanced.

36 cl bottle @ hotel room, San Diego. Bottled 18.05.2015. Aroma has berry juice and sweet vanilla notes. Also bourbon and ripe fruits. Flavour has woody notes, some berries, vanilla, bourbon, ripe fruits and sweet malt. Finishes with stinging alcohol. Too woody.

Bottle. Lactic chocolate malt and straw aroma - hint of bourbon. Medium brown with minimal head. Sweet light bourbon, milky caramel malt, and mildly bitter herbal hay flavor. Decent but doesn’t seem like the barrel aging did much for it - minimal bourbon presence.

Pours a dark reddish-brown with minimal head. Aroma is very redolent of bourbon/booze, with a touch of fruitiness. Flavor is quite sweet, a combination of vanilla, bourbon, chocolate, and some hop bitterness that is present in the finish. Not sure this is really an improvement over the regular beer, but glad to give it a try.
