Location: 12 oz bottle from State Line, 11/7/12
Aroma: The nose is a little sweet and a little smokey, with some caramel, meat, and bread
Appearance: It pours a clear caramel-orange color with a small beige head and some light lace
Flavor: Tastes a little more smokey then the nose, it still has quite a bit of sweetness, and a little bitterness
Palate: The body is fairly light for the style, with average carbonation, a tingly feel, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a solid beer. I'd recommend it as a "starter" Smoked beer, because the smoke is somewhat subtle and doesn't overpower everything else the way it does in some beers in the style, but it is still clearly there and recognizable.

Clear amber. Aroma is sweet malts, toasty, very faint smoke. Medium, smooth body. Light smoke, a bit of earth notes, some sweet malts. Not really digging this one.

12 ounce bottle from Wooden Keg in Hagerstown and shared at the 16th Richmond Ratebeer Gathering, 11/5/11. Pours a clear amber color with a thin head that fades quickly. Aroma of caramel, smoke, sugary notes and tea. The taste is sweet caramel malts, smoke, nuts and chocolate. Medium bodied. Nice.

The Big Hunt, DC tap ($6): Pours a brownish color with an off-white head. Aroma of some meat, smoky malts, dried fruits, and then some American hops. Flavor was quite excellent. A perfect amount of smoke was in there and it complimented the hops very well. The beer wasn’t really sweet and was perfectly smooth and well-balanced. I think I still prefer Aecht, but this beer here and compete with the best of them.

Draft at Paradiso Dupont. Pale golden color, thick white head. Aroma of oatmeal cereal with a subtle touch of campfire. Taste is rye bread, yeast, very subtle smoke. Very nice.
