I actually could not wait to taste this, a beer just a couple of blocks from where my daughter lives. Could walk there but, it was easily obtainable at total wine. From the $2 can, its somewhat lighter brown, lighter than expected, but considering new castle brown ale, its ok. The nose is a somewhat volatile olfactory of malt. Initially, I'm diggen the sweet josie thang. She's pretty cute on the label but is that blonde or brunette with a slight red tinge? Or neither, not at all? But I tell you, this suffers a little from that immature new brewer thing, you know, when it has this sharp ass astringent biting character going on? Yea its light brown like a new castle but is it as civilized? I say it can't even get close. Oh well, live and learn. Hey, but least it has a 6% malty kick to it, so it has some redeeming value.

Brown color with a creamy head. Toasty aroma. Taste is mild for a dark beer, slightly sweet and roasted, nutty without much bitter coffee flavor.
