Bottle from Total Wines, Sterling VA. Copper coloured, with a decent, white, head. Sweet, with brown sugar and hints of berry fruits, before a touch of toasty malts and gentle, slightly boozy, finish. Good.

3 month old can A: Pours a dark clear mahogany or tea color with a short tan head that fell quickly. S: Bitter chocolate with pine and faint orange in the background. T: Bitter citrus hops and sweet chocolate blend well then fade fairly quickly without much aftertaste. M: Light to thin body and lively carbonation with very clean finish. Drinks like a much lower ABV. O: Tasty if not very complex. Well balanced and accessible.

Brown color with red shades, large compact head. The aroma is a bit yeasty, but the malt flavor is quite nice, a bit of sweet chocolate, not much bitter. Smooth.

On tap at VCBW Festival, pours a deep dark brownish amber with a medium white head. Aroma brings out toasted malts and toasted nuts. Flavour is quite deep, with toasted nuts, dry cocoa and toasted malt. Well-balanced and actually quite deep for a brown. Nice stuff.

Keg at Jack Of The Wood, Asheville, 16/02/15. Chestnut brown with a decent light beige covering. Nose is toffee, biscuit, light chemical notes, cocoa powder. Taste comprises biscuit malt, toffee, nutty, light fruit rinds, cocoa rub. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a light bitter trace. Whelming affair.

Aroma: It has a sweet aroma of chocolate, toffee, and caramel malts.
Appearance: Pours a clear reddish-brown color with a beige head and decent lace.
Flavor: It has a fairly sweet flavor, with a minimal bitterness.
Palate: Has a creamy mouthfeel, light-medium bodied, clean and easy drinking.
Overall Impression: Thought this was pretty decent but not amazing. Definitely worth trying. Could use a little balance.

Can: Pecan nose, light smoke. Cloudy brown, medium tan head. Milk chocolate and soil on the front end, lightly sweet. Drier tree bark and vanilla finish. Slight earthiness throughout. Medium body. Very well done ABA without heaping tons of hops into it. Malt forward with nice nuance and balance. Well rounded and sessionable with full flavor.
