Poured from a bottle it is a dark brown with a slight head. The aroma is malty and has a hint of pecans. The taste is of a strong root beer and it resonates on the palate. Mighty tadty

From a 12 oz bottle at Ketch 55 in Avon NC. Pours a clear root beer brown with a thick tan head. Nutty mode. Flavors of toasted nuts and caramel. Slight bitter finish.

Deep brown coloured body with a thick, three centimetre tall tan head, rather soapy as well. Aroma of nuts, pecans, earth, malt, caramel and some walnuts in the mix as well - very nice and strong. Light-bodied; Strong nutty flavours of pecans, peanuts and light malt with a rather sweet and almost sour note showing some very subdued earthiness and a hint of grape flavour as well. Aftertaste is very much on the lighter side with the fruits coming out more than an earthiness and a little light sweetness coupled with some dry, oaky flavours is noticeable - interesting. Overall, a very odd brown ale that is very much on the light side of the spectrum with a lot of nuts and malt in the nose but almost nothing noticeable in the taste and finish - very light and airy throughout with not at all a cloying flavour. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Crystal City Wine Shop (12th Street) in Arlington, Virginia on 22-July-2014 for US$2,09 sampled a block away in Washington on 16-September-2014.

Bottle. Light ash and chocolate malt aroma. Dark chestnut with light tan head. Sweet milk chocolate and mildly bitter herbal hops. Body a bit light. Good - on the hoppy side.

Not huge. Comes together ok. Pours clear mahogany with good head and lacing. Some sweetened malt. Very light roast. Finishes with light bitterness. Tap at DC Beer festival.

Growler from the Brookhaven Beer Growler. Nice, clear brown with a thin, tan head. Walnuts, black bread, mild chocolate, and some rye. Malty sweetness, with a good bitterness. Medium body, chalky, and sticky. Overall, this is a nice brown ale, with a good toasted aroma, with a mild flavor.

Sample at GABF 10/13/2012, thanks to Bluemeow76 for assistance with note-taking. Reddish-brown color with a medium tan head and spotty lacing. Aroma of roasted malt and nuts. Light to medium body with a sweet roasty character and notes of bready malt, caramel and mild hops. The finish is sweet and malty. Decent overall.

Pours clear dark brown with an off-white head. Sweet nutty malt aroma. The flavor is mildly sweet, nutty. A little thin but better than many.
