This barley wine is a blend of multiple batches of beer which were aged in different spirits oak barrels. Its complex aroma and taste of oak, dark and sweet caramel, dark fruits and berries is a product of a complex brewing combined with the long of time spent in oak barrels. It will cellar very well, but do not go into decades of ageing... It is a sipper and perfect to share on a special occasion.

Bottle (thanks BlazerT). Pours dark brown. Aroma is sweet, bourbon, dark fruits, vanilla, roast, malt, booze. Flavor is sweet and bitter, roast, malt, bourbon, vanilla, some roast. Finish is sugary, vanilla, coconut, and malt. Overall: great, sweet and sticky, and boozy the way i like it.

Bottle @ Van Moll Brewpub shared with Caesar. Opaque black color, average sized brown head. Smell and taste malts, oak, liquor, malt bitter lightly, sweetness is dominant, nice moderately warming liquor alcohol in the finish. Nice one!

Potentially temporary rating. Thanks Sandi! Daark brown body with a tan head, tiny. Huge barrel aroma, berry, grapes, sweet, caramelly. Solid, pleasant, huge sweetish maltiness. Lovely sweet berry barrel smooth taste, caramel, ending with a bitterish dry taste, light raisins. Some alcohol, warming. Lovely. Just. Lovely.
