651ml bottle from the LCBO. aroma of pine hops, cereal, grainy malts, toffee, and caramel. body is thick and luscious. carbonation is soft. finish is medium bitter, and slightly sweet, with more pine in the finish. a great example and what i expect from the american strong style. reminds me of stones finest american strong ales.

Bottled@SBWF2012 (backlog). Amber colour with a small foamy off-white head. Aroma is caramel, nuts, some slight alcohol as well as some burnt sugar as well as mild toffee to it. Flavour is caramel, burnt sugar, some resin, mild dried sweet fruits and some slight herbal notes. Flavour hides the alcohol rather well.

Bottle, 22oz. From a trade with a good Danish friend. A brown one, almost clear, and topped by a beige head. There’s citrusy hops in the aroma, sort of balancing the nutty, caramel-ish maltyness. Nuts, caramel, roasted malts, sweetness and a fine bitterness in the flavor. It’s full-bodied and soft on the palate, with a pleasant carbonation. Overall, perhaps a bit on the sweet side, but I’m not dissatisfied in any way. 130405

Pours a dark ruby brown with a light brown top. Aroma is earthy and pine hops with a hint of citrus. Taste is a really great mix of earthy, pine hop bitterness with caramel strong malt presence. Really well balanced.

A bottle I picked up at Antenna America & brought to share at the Kyoto Craft Beer Fest. It poured a nice dark brown with a tan head. The aroma was malty sweet & the flavor as well. It’s a very mellow beer, the flavor profile is similar to a barley wine I think.
