Bottle @ home. Pours a bit hazy, dark reddish brown appearance with a small tan head. Burnt, roasty dark malty, light espresso, herbal/earthy hoppy aroma. The flavor actually has a ton of citrus fruits to go along with the piney/earthy hoppy elements and the roasty chocolate flavor. Way more citrus in the flavor than in the aroma. Ok.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Thanks David Cohen. Clear brown color. Aroma of piney and citric hops. Citric hoppy flavor with light roasty notes and a pleasant lingering bitterness. Medium-bodied. Nice.

22oz bomber. Pours a toffee dark ruby red-brown, not unlike a classic Porter. Steady thin off-white head. Minty peppermint patty aroma. Very smooth, well executed example of the style. Doughy chocolate malt tones, with a rich, sticky chocolate covered hop bitterness. Quite an enjoyable beer. Not as overbearing as some of other quality examples, this still remains sessionable, despite the big taste. Some light caramel notes as well, create some balance..almost a hint of a hoppy Brown. A great beer overall.

A deep dark ipa with a thick frothy creamy lacing brown head. In aroma, sweet fruity caramel malt with surranated hops, dark fruits, licorice, OK. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light hops, light coffee, OK. Bottle from 2011.

22oz bottle-pours a tan head and dark copper color. Aroma is ashy/charcoal, some resin. Taste is charcoal/ashy, dark malt, kerosene. Drying. Too much dark malt?

Bomber pours muddy dark brown with thin tan head. The aroma has notes of coffee, a firm level of earthiness, some spicy hops and a bit of pine too. The taste unloads a bunch of pine hops, earthy hops, spicy hops and sort of lime like citrus hops. The hops slid right into dark roasted earthy coffee beans and some dark roasted malts. I really enjoy the level of earthiness created here and how it integrates with the other notes.

Bomber. Pours a very dark ruby with a small paperthin off white head that leaves spotty lacing along the glass. The aroma is a floral hops and grapefruit. Thin mouthfeel with a light roast and grapefruit with a nice lingering dry bitter finish. A good black IPA from Full Sail.

Bottle thanks to Ben! Pours near black with a light brown head that dissipates quickly to the edges. Aroma has a bit of a light pine note with roasted malts and a bit of light chocolate. Flavor has a sweet chocolate note that is interesting when combined with the pine hop note. Didn’t really work for me.
