Draft at Snallygaster 2014. Poured a dark, pitch black color with a small tan head. Aroma was caramel, booze, roasted malts and coffee. Flavor was nice bitter coffee notes, boozy bourbon, with vanilla and some woody barrel notes. Thick.

Pours black with caramel head and lacing. Caramel aroma. Lots of roast, dark chocolate, some coffee, finishes light bitter. Tap at Snallygaster.

6 oz draft pour at Snallygaster 2014 shared by someone. Black with light tan head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, roast, coffee. Tastes of coffee, bourbon, spice, vanilla, chocolate. Medium-full body with a dry syrupy finish.

Bottle at the RBWG 2014 grand tasting, thanks! Pours a cloudy dark brown with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has lots of roasted malts with notes of dark fruits and dark grains. Flavor has bitter roasted malts with dark grains, dark chocolate and a hint of dark fruit.

Bottle shared late night RBWG. Pours oily black-brown with a bubbly tan head. Good stuff, slightly inky, some good chocolate, earthy bitterness. Brownies. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, more chocolate, rich bread. Nice.

8oz pour at Smoke and Barrel. Been chasing this around DC for a while. Pours an inky black with some spitty, brown head. Nose is very nice, lots of molasses, lots of roasted malt, some dark chocolate, vanilla, woody, some caramel. Flavor is nice too, some coffee grounds, sweet black strap molasses, a hint of black pepper and then solid barrel, wood, caramel, toast, vanilla. Full bodied, lightly sweet, lightly astringent finish.

From a 75 cl bottle shared in Avon NC. Bottled 12M2012. Pours black with a tan head. Light bourbon nose. Flavors of oak, vanilla, bourbon and roasted malts. Medium mouthfeel with light carbonation. Slight bitter finish.

Opaque black - brown beer, tidy tan head. Airy dry palate. Nice dark malt. Smooth but dry. Trace of coffee. Good balance of wood and bourbon with vanilla cream. Semi dry finish with mild bitter linger. Classic BA RIS.

Bottle, Silent Night label, shared at the 6th annual Richmond Industry Gathering, 11/27/11. Pours pitch black with a large tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of roasted malts, whisky, chocolate, earthy notes, maple and vanilla. The taste is roasted malts, earthy notes, whisky, wood and bitter leafy hops. Medium-full bodied. Nice beer.
