12 oz bottle at the Bucket Shop Cafe in Atlanta, Georgia. The pour is a light haze copper orange with a minimal off white head. The aroma has some nut and soft toast malt. The taste is clean, fresh solid Dunkel flavor profile. The toasted malt is the main character, with some softly sweet nut behind. The palate is light bodied, soft carbonation and a clean finish. Simple, well made, easy to drink.

Rich deep brown coloured body with a nice thin tan head and some good ruby and amber tints at the bottom. Aroma of malt, raisins, figs and a very subdued spicy scent. Medium-bodied; Very nice malt notes throughout with toffee, raisins and some brown sugar combining with the caramel and toasted malt flavours. Aftertaste shows more malt than anything else, but some nice sweetness and a very mild pepper and spice note show some complexity. Overall, a very well crafted dunkles with an emphasis on the malt of course, but enough complexity to make it seem so much more. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle after a hockey game on 30-October-2013, purchased from Arrowine in Arlington, Virginia - Thanks Kevin!

Bottle. Pours deep brown to black with a small beige head that mostly dissipates leaving a residual that laces well. Aroma is malt, roast, cardboard. Flavor is similar, roasty, cardboardy, light sweet and just a bit bitter. Not bad, not great either. Medium body.

Poured from a bottle it is a murky muddy brown with a slight white head. The aroma is of caramel and it tastes bitter and lingers on the palate.

Pizzeria Paradiso, Georgetown bottle ($7): Pours a murky light brown with a smallish head. Aroma is lightly of fruit, grain, with a hint of hops. Taste is much the same. Nice body and mouthfeel. Quite nice, but nothing all that special.

Sample at the Decatur Craft Beer Festival. Dark brown with a medium, beige head. The aroma is bread, toffee, and light floral hops. Tastes sweet and a little spicy. The palate is light to medium, grainy, and a clean finish. Overall, this is a good, flavorful, and refreshing beer. Excellent, for an American dunkel.

Bottle. Earthy roasted malt, light molasses, and dark fruit aroma. Brown with a small tan head. Dark roasted malt ... roasty, grainy, malty flavor. Medium body and carbonation. Very enjoyable malty beer.
