The Triple is a strong, full-bodied Belgian abbey-style ale. The authentic Belgian yeast strain used in fermentation contributes to a rich array of spicy, phenolic, and fruit-like flavors and noticeable alcoholic warmth. This unfiltered ale has an irresistible pale orange-colored hazy glow.

Nice little surprised I packed away for the doldrums of Central American beer. It definitely lived up to expectations. Smells floral with some sweet malt. Pours cloudy orage with good head and lacing - even in this hostel coffee cup Im drinking it in. Taste has light sourness and sweetness. Some boozy bitterness as well. Bottle from village beer merchant.

Bottle. Pours Pours a near clear gold with a bit of sediment and a white head that lasts throughout the beer and laces slightly. Aroma has a good amount of sweetness with notes of fruit, cookies and grain and just a hint of spice. Flavor has sweet grains up front with a slight grassy and floral note. The finish has a bit of booze with a light spice note.

Smells like bananas and cloves and yeast. The pour looks good, but still lacking in true Belgian beauty. Stoudts Triple starts dry, but quickly grows a mildly sweet fruit-laced center. Bananas and cloves and apple cider all flow across your palate, but a very bubbly, very warm finish muscles its way down your esophagus with little care as to etiquette. Complex, but the heat is blatantly noticeable and the rough fade causes the beer to taste askew. (12/08)

Draft at Paradiso Dupont. An average, middle of the road tripel, not offensive, but not not exciting either. Pleasant enough.

bottle pours hazy orange with a medium white head. Aroma is hot with alcohol and peppery hops, lots of citrus as well. Flavor is rich toasted and pale malts, dry hot finish with substantial hop presence and a nice touch of yeast.

Bottle from Half Time. Pours orange gold with a foamy white head. Aromas of peach fruit and mildly peppery spice. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is peach, something phenolic, and some "mildly pepper spice". Finishes more dry than not, and the carbolicity stands in for bitter. Actually seems to move towards bitter. Rather light given the 9%. Drinks nicely.

Had both the 2003 Abbey Triple vintage and the 2009 new version. Early vintaged bottle at Pilsner Pete’s RBSG. Pours a clear amber. Nose and taste is very sweet, beet sugar, molasses. I thought the newer vintage was a little sweeter and poured clearer.

Pours clear gold into a trappist glass. Bright white head recedes to hug rim leaving no lacing. Belgian yeast and cookie aromas. Crisp with upfront sweet caramel turning to pepper and spice in the middle and a burning alcohol and hop finish. One of the better US takes on a tripel.
