Had a difficult time locating this on the website, mine was labeled Tupper’s hop pocket pils brewed by Old dominion. Mine says lager beer on it but I know I saw keller someplace on the label but can’t see it now! Nice clean aroma from a bottle dated 010407. Pour is full of sediment. Looks like a hefe. Has a little bit of a candy. Taste is a little sweet, has a almost candy sensation about it. Now I sense it in the smell too, that candy thing in there. Unique finish is not too bad but it could have a few more manners.

Hazy gold with a large white head. Aroma is floral, grass and hay. Biscuity, floral, grass. Nicely crisp finish. Solid beer and quite the summer refresher.

Whole Foods Market, DC 4-pack ($11): I just got this because I wanted a pilsener and I hoped that this would be passable. I was pleasantly surprised to find a beer geekish treat. Anyway, it pours a golden colour with a nice white head. Aroma has got the lemon, lemon soap, grassy hops, a few more hops here and there, oh and some hops. The different hop varieties play off of each other in some a clear and clever way in this beer that it is worth mentioning. Different kinds of bitterness are present from start to finish and the hop flavors undergo a veritable transformation. Leaves some lasting aftertaste and a smile on your mouth.

Tap at Pizzeria Paradiso Georgetown. Very pale clear yellow, does not look like an unfiltered beer. More weak and watery than a keller ought to be.

12 ounce bottle from Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a thin head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of grassy, slightly resiny hops with a big earthy and slightly mineral quality. The taste is big green, grassy hops with some pale malts. A faint bit of dry toastiness as well. Medium bodied. Nice pilsner. Opened 6/7/10.

One of the better tasting pilsners I’ve had. Nose and taste of doughy breads and citrus. Rated 5/12/04

Pours a cloudy golden color with a medium off-white head that recedes steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Grassy hops aroma with light malt underneath. Light to bedium body with flavors of yeast, grass, hops and malt. The finish is earthy malt and yeast with a mild hops flavor left over. Above average overall.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Buy Rite - Jersey City, 12/28/10

Aroma: The nose has some floral hops, spice, yeast, and grass
Appearance: This one pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a small white head
Flavor: The taste is floral and grassy mostly, with a biscuity malt presence as well
Palate: It has a nice crisp light-medium body, and a somewhat dry finish
Overall Impression: Wow, I haven't had a Tuppers beer in years. Yes, their beers did resurfaced a while back, after a pretty long hiatus, but for some reason I haven't had one since they started brewing them at St. George, so this one clearly needed a re-rate. Anyway, I enjoyed this one. Much better then my old notes would have indicated, and more toward what I thought I remembered of this beer. A re-rate was truly needed here.

Location: Having lived in VA/MD/DC region for a long time I use to drink this one pretty regularly, and I didn't realize it had been retired, which explains why I haven't seen it in a while....

Overall Impression: Looking back on an old rating I had no comments but the score, so I'll just score it for now. I do remember thinking it was a pretty nice one for it's style, but not much else about it. (3.2)

bottle - Pours light gold with a medium sized white head. The aroma is of mild hops and a touch of citrus. It has a good, crisp hops flavor that’s well balanced by some easy going bready malts. The carbonation is lively and the body is light without being watery. Nice pils.
