This collaboration with Kaldi’s Coffee uses the cold toddy method of extraction for the coffee. We mix it with Oatmeal Stout for an exceptionally delicious beer.

Bottle. Pours a deep brown, with almost red tinges. Think cherry cola. Initial aroma is coffee, of course. Taste is a bit thin at first, though as it warms, get decent body. A bunch of carbonation for the style. The coffee flavor is fairly subdued to me, not a bad stout.

Deep red-brown body, somewhat translucent, thick beige head. Buttery, roasty, coffee aroma. Coffee dominated the body, with notes of butter and ever-present roasted malts. Medium-bodied. Unremarkable; nothing separates this from other stouts of average repute.

Hop in the City: Aroma: Coffee. Flavor: Coffee. Aftertaste: Coffee with a slight bitter bite. Other than that, there is a bit of sweet malt background, but it’s difficult to detect over the coffee. As Schlafly’s t-shirts say, Beer is not just for breakfast anymore. This is a coffee that you can have after dinner, too.

Bottled, thanks beerhandy! Near black with small beige head. Coffee aroma. Sweet and very roasty. Surprisingly it feels more malty and rounded than the Oatmeal Stout. Salty, tarry finish. The coffee has done this beer good!

Excellent brew. Pours so dark with a nice creamy head. Aroma is coffee-heavy with slight burnt smell that lingers. Coffee taste is dominant, with slight alcoholic warmth and darkly toasted malt in the background. This is one of the best put together coffee stouts I have tried.

Pour is a deep black with almost no head. Aroma is a very strong coffee. Oh boy here goes the taste. OH wow that is very strong. It more like a espresso stout. Coffee flavor is overpowering. Grainy and sandy as it goes down. Tasty in a way but drink in small batches.
