$2.30 Bottle, Wine Warehouse, CHO. Pours clear amber-brown with a large frothy off-white head. Smells of ginger and caramel. Tastes of caramel, roasted nuts, sugar, and alcohol.

Poured from a bottle it is an amber ale with sn ectue head. The stoma idvof cinnamon and gloves. The taste is that too it resonated on the palate

From a 12 oz bottle shared at home. Pours a clear deep amber with an ecru head. Spicy nose. Flavors of cinnamon, cloves, cranberry and orange zest. Medium bodied, high carbonation, effervescent finish.

12 oz. bottle compliments to Queenholly. As I popped the cap I could smell the spices. Nothing like a little Christmas in February! Nice amber pour with thick fluffy head that fizzled and slowly died. Nose is clove, spice and caramel. The orange peel is the main spice I get followed by nutmeg and cinnamon with light toffee notes from the malt. Lightly dry finish. I like that this brewer took a slightly different take on a spiced brew. Reminds me a bit of spiced cake. It drinks like a 5 % brew. Overall, I enjoyed this.

Nice crisp copper coloured body with a bright amber, ruby and orange tint and a thick, three centimetre tall tan head - nice. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, figs, earth and bunches of spices - allspice, pumpkin pie spice, nutmeg and cinnamon. Medium-bodied; Strong spicey flavour at first with alcohol also noticeable, but the spice warmth starts with nutmeg and hits coriander seed, cardamom and juniper berries. Aftertaste is potent with the roasted malt and pit fruits the strongest, but the bitterness from spices is also noticeable and showing relatively well. Overall, a nice spiced beer with some good flavours, but not too much to be cloying or overpowered - a nice beer for sure and good for winter. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Red, White & Bleu in Falls Church, Virginia on 23-November-2012 for US$2.99 sampled at home on this, the twelve day of Christmas, 06-January-2013 in Washington.

Bottle. Cinnamon, orange, and caramel aroma. Amber with a moderate ivory head, decent lacing. Flavor is just a big overwhelming spice bomb, which almost obscured what little bit of sweet malt I was able to detect.. Medium body and carbonation. I may as well have been chewing on a cinnamon stick. This one lacks balance. Looking at some of the other ratings, I seem to be in a minority on this one.

Aroma: The nose is full of winter spice, with some cookie, caramel, and orange/citrus
Appearance: It pours a clear reddish color with a small off-white head and minimal lace
Flavor: The flavor is fairly spicy as well, malty and fairly sweet, with a little bit of alcohol as well
Palate: The body is medium, it has an average-to-lively carbonation, and some mild heat
Overall Impression: I thought this was an alright example of a winter warmer. They didn't do anything wrong, but maybe I just expected a little better example from Schlafly. It isn't bad, it just isn't well rounded enough.

Bottle @ home, courtesy of jcnielsen. Thanks Jetson! Pours a dark red orange appearance with a small, light brown head. Spicy clove, orange citrusy, light caramel, fairly spicy aroma. Tangy orange peel, lightly toasty malty, fairly spicy, light clove flavor. Ehhh, ok.

12oz bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a lightly cloudy amber with about a finger of off-white head. Aroma of spice, clove, nutmeg and cinnamon. Taste is lightly sweet. Lots of cinnamon and spice. Medium bodied with a creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a long finish. Overall, not bad. Although, it would probably be better drank around Christmas time as opposed to an 80 degree day in Southern Illinois.

Bottle. Pours dark amber with tan head. Nose/taste of cinnamon, clove, caramel, nutmeg and sweet malt. Spices seem fresh and authentic. Medium body.
