An authentic example of a Bavarian Hefeweizen. This beer is made with mostly wheat malt and uses a true Hefeweizen yeast that gives it a fruity banana aroma with just a hint of cloves. The tart finish makes this the perfect summer beer.

Nice nose with clove and banana coming on strong. Too light on the palate, watery and thin. Slight bubblegum notes. Kinda weak. Watery wheat rather than a robust weizen. Disappointing.

A bit thin and mild for a hefe, not reaching much banana-clove depth, instead coming off bready as all hell. Mild grassy sweetness against a yeast backbone, not aggressive but firm, with a slight floral hop finish. Good nose, good looks, but the feel’s slack, too slick for a sparkly hefeweizen. Not their best beer, not their worst. Eh.

Light banana and bread yeast like a bakery. Hazy yellow pour. Watery consistency. Tap at brewpub.

Bottle - pour looks good - turbid orange - texture in the mouth has a nice froth to it - flavor is kind of sweet, with a dull yeastiness to it, lacking a lot of the esters and phenols I look for in the style, although this is slight pepper and very faint hints of clove - mostly what I taste is sweetness, wheat, and yeastiness - it’s alright, though.

12 oz. bottle thanks to weihenweizen, nice brew. Label reads 3-5-15. Really? Most wheat brews fall off quick, this didn’t. Big yeast phenols, banana, clove and light spice.
The yeast profile is about as authentic German as you can get, nice esters. Body is medium with a light chewiness. The finish has the sweetness plus light spicy notes. Nicly made.

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown bottle from shrubber85 poured into a weizen glass. Aroma is big clove, medium/light body, medium/light body, medium/well carbonated, little small-bubble lacing. Taste is clove, banana, bubblegum, and yeasty backbone. One of the finest American hefeweizens I have had.

The appearance has a hazy golden orange colored body with a thick two fingered white foamy head that dies within about a minute, some light foamy lacing graces the sides of the glass adequately.
The smell was almost the best aroma combination of a clove to coriander to banana esters - sweet to spiciness - wow, I’m enthralled.
The taste is sweet to spicy through the cloves and coriander to the banana esters. The aftertaste is pretty much exactly the same and just as good with a nice quick dry spicy sweet finish.
On the palate, it sits about a light to medium sort of body with a mostly sessionable aspect to it. Carbonation finishes just right for a hefeweizen as there’s a harsh component and a smooth component that balances just right.
Overall, wow, where the heck did this come from? This is a very well done hefeweizen by an American brewer.
