pitch black pour, big brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, licorice, cofee, and alot of booze! Very hot, and slightly peppery alcohol, with more of the thick resinous roasted malt, and an intense burnt coffee finish.

Deep, dark brown coloured body with a ruby and cola glow and absolutely no head or movement at all - nothing. Aroma of pungent soy sauce, mushrooms, earth, alcohol, grapes and a funky pungent note - not too pleasant in the nose. Full-bodied; Very sweet flavour at first with a ton of sugars and caramel notes at first then fading to a earthy, roasty flavour with some coffee and vanilla and a lot of bitterness at the end. Aftertaste shows a dramatic amount of alcohol with a burn of equal lengths - pungent and strong as hell, but this was a bit too overdone. Overall, a very bad Imperial Stout with pungent flavours, but it’s the overdone alcohol and sweet flavours that make it bad - but the worst part about it, is the price. I’d rather fly to Montreal and try this on tap than spend the tons of money to buy a single bottle of this one! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Best Cellars in Arlington (Clarendon), Virginia on 04-July-2011 for US$13.99 sampled at home after ~2 years of aging in Washington on 24-February-2013.

Bottle at Max’s courtesy of Casey - a million thanks! Shared with steptin. Black. Tiny bubble edge head. The aroma reminds me of a summer visit to the Isola di Capri! The taste leaves me almost speechless - licorice, vanilla, molasses, and the hard candy that my grandmother always kept in a dish on her coffee table. Best beer of the night, and an amazing night it was!

A deep dark stout with a thin brown head. A pleasant aroma of coffee liquor, chocolate, licorice and orange peels. In mouth, a superb sweet cocoa liquor, nutella, chocolate, Nestle Quick, warming alcohol, superb and rich, a desert beer. On tap at Mondiale 2010.
