12oz bottle pours with a nice dark body that’s nearly black and supporting a mocha colored head. The aroma offers up chocolate, mineral water, spicy hops, earthy chocolate and then a light mix of molasses and dark roasted malts. The taste begins with an influx of chocolaty goodness as well as slivers of molasses and dark roasted malts. It gets a bit earthy and spicy hops to midway and then a mild sense of spicy black licorice amid the chocolate and dark roastiness is noticed. Very nice easy going stout.
Almost a licorice taste to it. Was expecting a better effort.

Deep perfectly pitch black coloured body with a thin, oily deep brown head. Aroma of nothing but pungent items: anise, licorice, coffee, alcohol and roasted malt - with a definite brininess from the oysters. Full-bodied; Strong assertive nutty and roasted malt flavour with a lot of alcohol, caramel and coffee flavours and the extra body from the oysters and the almost salty finish. Aftertaste shows a ton of deep flavours again with the sweetness really coming through here and the alcohol. Overall, a very nicely done Oyster with some great characteristics and a very robust complexity. I sampled two of these 75 cL bottles purchased from Liqour Outlet in Boonton, New Jersey.

750 ml bottle shared with steptin, Michael and Jen (a.k.a. the friendliest beer lovers in the USA, and the proudest fans of their locals). Black. Tan head. Aroma of burnt cocoa and Illy caffè. Taste is smooth and silky, bitter espresso and cocoa. Nice stuff.

Pours black with a mocha head. Nose is roasted malts and coffee beans. Taste is smooth chocolate and roasted malts and barley. Good stout, but missing something to make it great.
