Notes from August 2009 On tap at BCTC09. I just had to write a review of my terrible experience with this beer. It just layed about leagues below anything else I had to drink that day. Way too generous pour into my Duvel glass. Pours a murky & oily pinkish amber with a wisp of off-white head. Smell seems innocent enough. Mixed berries, dusty wheat, & a little steel. Taste just goes all wrong. Berry punch, a touch sour/tart, acidic upfront, but halfway through all I notice is the ugly margarine. So greasy & disgusting. Heavy, yet still quite frothy. Try & try, every proceeding sip gets more & more dominated by oil & butter. Just horrible. I'm amazed that I kept the contents of my stomach in check throughout the terrible experience. I saw some people mixing this with the milk stout & having a better time of it. Those were some very tolerable people.

12oz bottle, no date, left by friends after a party. They bought some very good artificial strawberry, I very much enjoyed it. The base beer is unoffensive standard bland malts and no discernible hoppiness. Thicker malt biscuit. But fancy fake strawberry.

12 ounce bottle. Brassy gold color. Firm white head. Grainy malt nose with a hint of berry. Flavor follows the nose. Sweet malt and berry notes. Thin bodied and drinkable. A touch of tangy fruit in middle. Brief sweet finish.

A little undrinkable. Like strawberry pop. Maybe good for your girlfriend if she doesn’t like beer. On tap at DC Beer Festival.

Bottle. Fruity wheat malt aroma, not quite strawberry - I wonder if the fact that I had just finished picking and cleaning strawberries had anything to do with my perception of the aroma. Slightly hazed copper with a large ivory head. Fruity wheat malt flavor - again, not quite strawberry. Light body, soft carbonation.

An amber ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, loads of butterscotch and berries, cloying. In mouth, a synthetic strawberry, filthy, oily butterscotch, very bad. On tap at Harrisburg location, April 10th, 2011.
