(Bottle sample @ CBC 2016 Red Session, Copenhagen) Pours inky purple like a full-bodied red wine, basically no head. Aroma has intense notes of Schaarbeekse cherries, blueberry, quite jammy, pie filling feel, with vanilla and even a surprising hint of cacao, I think both derived from wood meshing with the berries, the nose is spectacular. The flavour is more subdued, less jammy than the Schaarbeekse on its own, bilberries seem to even it out with a tannic dryness. Notes of tart cherry flesh, bilberry flesh and skin, wood, lightly lactic and heavy on berry tartness, some creamy yoghurty quality though, aggressive bitterness towards the back end (wood/hops) and an aftertaste with a kiss of oak, bilberry and cherry skin. Light to medium bodied, light carbonation. An incredible nose that would be tough to match up on the tongue, but really nice on balance.

Smakprov från flaska CBC-2016. Smak och doft av jord, körsbär, körsbärskärnor, trä med toner av vanilj och blåbär. Rund och len, fin syrlighet, torr, viss strävhet, välbalanserad. Mycket gott!
