Issue a small craft advisory: this South Bay Bessie-inspired brew launches an intense hop attack amid torrid tropical fruit flavors.

Very light haze on this gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is smooth and slightly viscous, semi dry with fine carbonation. Smooth malts precede alcohol dryness and spice. Little resinous pine and citrus. Mild hop spice. Light finish. Clunky but passable.

Really solid interpretation of the style. Poured a golden caramel amber into the tulip glass, large white head that dissipates quickly and leaves very nice lacing. Aroma of juicy chewy hops and bready malts. Taste is similar. Nice

Bottle shared at a tasting at Ariel’s place. Slightly hazy golden. Aroma of stale hops, a bit floral, honey-ish and cookie-ish malt and fruity notes Sweet malty flavor, caramelly, with a bit of honey, a bit of fruitiness and a finish with very short bitterness with some old hops and a bit of alcohol. Medium-bodied.

12 oz. bottle, sent from mista (thanks a lot, Geoff), pours a hazy golden orange with a medium white head. Aroma of resinous hops, some tropical fruits, and a little bit of butterscotch notes. Flavour is big and bold, with loads of resinous hops, some tropical fruits (oranges, a little mango and pineapple), and a bit of sweet caramel malt. Exceptionally well-rounded, finishing both hugely hoppy and moderately malty. Extremely high drinkability. Excellent stuff.

Bottle received by my summer secret santa. Thank you jsquire. Pours tiny hazy deep brownish golden with a small frothy and fizzy offwhite head that is rather quick to dissipate while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is fruity, malty, floral and herbal with crackers, white bread, pine needles, grapefruit juice, resinous pine cones, elderflowers, lemon zest, orange peal, freshly cut grass, papaya and alcohol. Taste is sweet and bitter with crackers, white bread, biscuits, alcohol, pine needles, resinous wood, moist soil, freshly cut grass, overripe gooseberries, grapefruit rinds, lemon zest, orange zest, overripe mango, pineapple, black currant leaves and hints of caramel. Mouthfeel is round, oily bitter, slightly boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is bitter with white bread, grapefruit rinds, biscuits, pine needles, grass, resinous wood and alcohol. Nice and heavily bitter.

Bottle. Huge fresh juicy pineapple-grapefruit-mango and sugary malt aroma. Hazy orange with a large ivory head, nice lacing. Sugary caramel malt, grapfruit and piney hops flavor. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Very nice, especially the aroma.

12 oz bottle from De Bierkoning @ home (Enjoy by 07/24/13). Clear golden to amber color. Rocky white head. Aroma’s: not much actually and what there is is quite sweet. Also retronasal it’s rather sweet, sweet/dark fruit with some hoppy notes. Flavor is moderately sweet & moderately bitter. Alcohol is definitely noticeable, warming. Medium bodied. Finishes slightly dry, fairly bitter. Quite a nice beer, but not exactly what I expected from a IIPA.

Snifter pour at Lost Dog Cafe - Dunn Loring. Poured a nice looking golden orange color with a very very small, wispy head. Aroma is citrus, tropical notes. Flavor is balanced malty notes, citrus. Plenty of booze which might be the only detriment to this one.
