12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 7/26/2013. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of big mango, pineapple, grapefruit, orange zest, lemon zest, pine, floral, grass, honey, and floral earthiness. Fantastic aromas with great hop complexity and moderate malt balance. Taste of big mango, pineapple, pine, grapefruit, lemon zest, orange zest, floral, grass, honey, bread, and floral earthiness. Moderate pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tropical fruit, citrus, pine resin, floral, grass, honey, bread, and hop earthiness on the finish for a while. Damn nice complexity and balance of hop flavors; with a moderate malt balance that doesn’t overshadow the hops, and zero cloying flavors lingering after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a moderately creamy and sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a small warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent DIPA! Big hop flavor complexity with moderate malt balance; and dangerously smooth to sip on. A highly enjoyable offering.

On tap at Pies and Pints Charleston. Pours deep golden with big white head. Aroma is rich grapefruit. Light/medium body, medium carbonation, and medium/lots lacing. Taste is fresh grapefruit with strong rich malt backbone. Fairly easy drinking for a Imperial IPA.

From a bottle shared at home. Pours a cloudy pale amber with a white. Sweet citrus nose. Grapefruit and counterbalancing sweet malts. Nice DIPA.

12oz bottle pour into tulip glass. Shiny orange with white head. Big nose: fruity, sweet citrus. Nice hoppy palate with bitter finish. High ABV doesn’t show itself. A winner in my book!

Shaker pint draft at the Old Bag Nails pub in Worthington, Ohio. The pour is a hazed orange golden, with a one inch off white head. The aroma is softly sweet honey, floral, and a bready malt. The taste is honey sweet, sharp bitterness, the floral of the nose, some leafiness, and noticeable booze. The palate is medium to light bodied, with the hot booze finish.

Bottle. Deep golden body with a frothy, white head, slowly diminishing. Big juicy aroma of grapefruit/orange juice, citrus, mango, toasted grain. Hint of caramel. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately bitter and lightly acidic. It finishes moderately sweet, moderately to heavily bitter and lightly acidic. Medium to full body, velvety texture and moderate carbonation. Taste of sweet orange juice, almost pulpy, mixed with grapefruit juice. The hand-off from the sweet beginning to the bitter finish is flawless. Really like double IPAs that are full of citrus fruits (like Dreadnaught). This is one of those. Very nice.

12oz bottle from Chuck’s poured into a snifter. Pours a cloudy orange with a bit of white head. Great lacing. Aroma of citrus, apricot and grapefruit. Taste starts lightly sweet and ends medium bitter. Very citrus-oriented. Medium bodied with a oily yet creamy texture. Lively carbonation and a very long, bitter and alcohol burn finish. Overall, awesome. Something I wish I would have bought the whole 4-pk instead of just a single.

12 oz. bottle thanks to drfabulous. Used a snifter. Pored a hazy orange with large white head that dissipated within a minute to leave a small ring around the snifter, showing light lacing. Nose is a pleasant mix of grapefruit, pine and a mild sweetness. Flavor of grapefruit, sweetness from a big malt backbone. Mouthfeel is sort of thick. Finish starts off sweet then changes to a mild bitterness that lingers a bit. I have to note, I don’t drink many DIPA’s. And I will say that this is a nice example that I can drink. Solid.

12 ounce bottle from Rodman’s in DC, opened 6/22/11. Best by 8/11/11. Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a medium white head that fades fairly quickly. Aroma of earthy, slightly resiny hops. The taste is tropical, citrus and earthy hops. Some faint malts in the background and some nutty notes. Medium bodied. Quite nice.
