Pours a light, coppery-brownish gold with impressive head. Malt in the aroma and flavor is a bit oppressive. Has the expected floral/citrus notes: grapefruit, pine, etc, but the sweet, bready malt flavors tend to overpower the rest. Certainly worth a try, but not one of the better double IPAs I’ve tried.

WOOO, looking forward to this. Pours a clear medium copper... I immediate;y smell the rip roarin’ fun of a nice IPA. Deep citrusy grapefruit, pine, passionfruit. A bittersweet nectar slides down my throat. Wow. A nice, lightish feel that is slicker than expected. Nice bitter orange peel, pine and soap. Yum.

Well, first I thought this was from erie brewing but no. Pours like light frying pan oil with a slightly orangier color. Big giant bitter blast across your tongue and down the hatch, wew. What else can be said but super mouth coating hopped ale attitude, on style, on style (double ipa, heheh). Its alky content if fully apparent in the session and on the finish. If your looking for something that will impact your attitude, here it is! A little stronger than those latty IPAs I tried from sammy.

Location: Bottle at jcos's place pre-Homecoming 2010, 10/29/10

Overall Impression: Kramerica, you know I really wanted to like this one before we opened it, but it just wasn't quite right. I think it was past it's prime, because it just tasted way too "ripe" to me. Smooth of body. I'll have to re-rate this one later on to see if it's the beer or the beer's age that made me not love it.

An amber ale with a thin off white head. A light malty aroma with smooth floral hops, resinous. In mouth, a big chunky malt with light resinous hops, developing more as beer warms up. Medium bodied. On tap at Al’s Smoking Lounge, August 27 2010.

12 oz bottle. Pours orange golden with an off-white head and some fine particles. Citrusy aroma moving on to strong resinous notes and a bit of berry. Flavor is resinous with grapefruit and some spiciness against a subtle caramel background. Pretty good stuff.

Sampled on draft at Smokin’ Joe’s in Pittsburgh PA this beer poured a dark orange-amber color with a large foamy white head t that lingered forever and produced incredible lacing. The aroma was moderate pine, catbox and sour malts. The flavor was dry, bitter and had a sour malty presence with notes of grapefruit, catbox and pine. Long bitter hoppy finish. Fairly full bodied. Solid.

Draft at Birreria Paradiso. Variegated, cloudy amber and yellow. Aroma of lemon and lime. Taste has lots of citrus, bitter middle and finish. Definitely the surprise of the day, a very nice IPA.

Bottle. Hazy medium orange body, thick creamy buff head. Sweet, sugary nose, with butterscotch, citrus rind, and pine. Creamy body with sweet bready malts and bitter citrusy, piny hops. Warming alcohol in the bitter, but not overpowering, finish. The characteristic GL soft, sugary palate is intact here, a noncommittal shift of some emphasis from the bitter hops. Quite good, nonetheless.
