12 ounce bottle. Hazy amber orange color with a small creamy beige head. Rich caramel malt nose with hints of toasted nuts and toffee. Tangy toasted malt flavor has lot’s of rich toffee and vanilla notes. Full bodied with more nuttiness in the mid taste. Very reminiscent of the British traditional Old Ale style. Finishes with some spicy hops, but the malt is the star here. Overall, a very tasty ale. Worth seeking out.

On sampler tray at BWI. Plain brown color, thick tan head, massive lacing. Aroma of malt, vanilla, subtle cocoa. Taste had vanilla, nutmeg, butterscotch. Fuller body than other Du Claw offerings. Good base for barrel aging, I think.

Dark date colour. Chewy, slightly toffeeish aroma is fairly mild. Soft, sweet flavour, lightly accented towards caramel malts. Clean, tasty, if a little light and straightforward.
