Bottle from a trade with tgncc. Pours clear dark golden color with huge white head. Great floral aroma. Lots of lavender and chamomile in the nose. The flowers are also very evident in the flavor along with bready yeast. Medium body with lively carbonation. A very nice floral saison. Thanks Tom.

750 ml bottle. Golden yellow color, medium white head, medium lacing. Aroma of malt. Taste is a bit sweet, bright, with a thin body. A bit on the boring side.

Bottle Thanks to ditmier for saving some of this, to start off one of our tastings. Pours out a hazy gold topped with a cream head. Aroma was floral all the way for me. I had a hard time digging to get anything else. Taste was more of the floral notes some orange zest and a nice spice to round things out. This was a very complex and interesting beer to try.

Bottle. Hazy, deep golden body. Huge frothy turning pillowy white head, slowly diminishing. Big floral aroma with notes of potpouri and hints of toasted grain, hay, citrus, lemon, perfume and herbs. The flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly acidic and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet, lightly acidic and moderately bitter. Taste of orange and citrus below flower petals. Medium body, creamy turning sticky texture, lively carbonation. This is a beer that made a big first impression. The floral notes were restrained, letting other characteristics through. But halfway through the glass, the floral aromas and flavors started wearing out their welcome because they lasted long into the finish and built up on the tongue. And by the end of the glass, I was ready to move onto another beer having gotten tired of having a bag of potpouri in my mouth.

Notes from February 2010 3.97/5 rDev -1.5% look: 4 - smell: 4.5 - taste: 3.5 - feel: 3.5 - overall: 4.5 Year-old bottle. Big boy tulip. All by myself. I had this on tap a few times, & it seems things have mellowed just a bit. A bit darker, like an old chardonnay. Rocky, chiseled, off-white head. Very spritzy. When fresh, it is better then a bouquet of almost anything your local florist can put together. So natural, with overpourings of lavender, rose, grass, & chamomile. Never soapy or harsh, & just so seductive. With this aged bottle, there are certainly remnants of what once was, but the flowers have wilted more then somewhat, & been overlapped with fruit. A base of sweet tea is highlighted with scents of strawberry & pear. Some very mild lavender does still remain though. Slightly sharp & bittersweet, with just a hint of menthol & yeast. The sweet tea comparison is very inviting. Taste-wise, you first have to get past the extreme carbonation. Champagne-like bubbles. Taste is chamomile & white grapes. A touch of caramelization has settled in. A clean leafy bitterness. It just barely hangs on to that dry saison finish. Not the easiest quaffer, but only because I'm encouraged to pay attention. Never overbearing or intensely herbal, but softly fragrant & even juicy at times. Easy alcohol, & an okay price tag if left for special occasions. Awesome fresh, & still quite interesting when not. :)

Tried it again with way too much age:
Heavy, clear, honey iced tea pour.
Really sharp
Honey iced tea, melted flowers, astringent nose.
Tart, iced tea, berry, ugly tannic old mess. Floral tea.
Crispy but well past

75 cl bottle at the RB Rochester Gathering, Sept. 09. Thanks, ElJefe. Medium amber color with huge carbonation and a large head. Big, fragrant, flowery aroma: lots of ginger in there, though they didn’t add it. Flowery, very sweet flavor. Again tastes a lot like a real ginger ale. Nice, pillowy palate. Interesting as hell, though maybe a bit over the top with the flowers!

(10/25/08) Bottle on the train on my way back from the brewpub in Southampton to New York. Cloudy orange color. Very spicy aroma with yeast, a bit of malt, fruits and flowers. Really spicy flavor with some malt sweetness, lots of yeast and a bit of alcohol. A dry spicy finish. Medium-bodied. Way too spicy for me. I had to "track-pour" this one (it means waiting for the train to stop at a station, standing by the open door and pouring the beer out before the train moves again).

Courtesy of tpd975. Pours deep deep mildly hazy gold with very thin white head. The aroma is pretty bold with candi sugar, dark fruity esters of hard candy cherries and prunes to go along with lots and lots of spices, some sweet honey and a hint of herbs. The taste has a solid bolt of sweetness going along with fresh picked rose pedals and honey. I also get tasty notes of spices and additional dark fruity esters. Lip smakin’ goodness.

Sampled at Max’s Taphouse in Baltimore. Pours a transparent gold with a soft, cloudy white head. Aroma is mild with perfume and yeast. Flavor has stronger malts, spice, banana, yeast and hay. Clean, spicy, yeasty finish.
