Can from Americanbeer. Misty dark amber body, thick off-white head. Enormous aroma, huge caramel, dried fruit, light pine, orange liqueur, soft, grainy, maybe light oxidation. Maybe. Its BB date is basically, well, looking at where it's brewed, right now (almost 3 AM here the next date here, hah), but holds up well. Fairly lean taste, dry, light, dried out caramel (if you can imagine it) with hazy, citric notes, strong herbal notes, wormwood undertones, yee, this is old school, but well made old school.

Pours amber with a thick white head. Aroma of resinous pine. Taste has bitter and lasting herbal resin elements. Palate has pine residuals. Good.

This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a hazy bronzed orange to amber color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within a minute. Clingy lacing graces the sides of the glass.
The smell starts off mainly with the sweet caramel malts up front gently allowing an ever so slight citrus bittersweetness, not bad.
The taste involved the same sort of the flavors of the aroma to blend and lead into the aftertaste and a sticky finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a decent sessionable to sipping quality to it. Carbonation runs fairly low, and the stickiness hits decently along my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a fairly decent DIPA to me, if anything its got a nice balance with the caramel side.

Can from Harvest Market, Bedford NH. Aroma is resiny, citrusy hops over bread/dough. Appearance is hazy yellow orange with finger width head with decent retention and lacing. Mild sparkle. Taste is mix of moderate sweet with a bit of citrus early with mild bitter late. Palate is medium bodied with thick, slightly slick texture, lively but not obnoxious carbonation and dry, crisp, mildly bitter finish. Overall, aroma is hop dominant but taste is nicely balanced for those not wanting to get run over by hops.

Pours a hazy amber from a bottle. Nose is a little like nail polish remover, with some oaky notes. Flavor is a combo of floral and bitter hops, with some residual maltiness. A balanced mouthfeel. Good beer.

12 oz bottle from Candia Rd. Pours a slightly hazy medium golden color with a huge fluffy white head that shows moderate retention. Pine resin and grapefruit mixed with a bready caramel maltiness make up most of the aroma. Moderate hop bitterness with plenty of pine resin and citrus flavor. A bit sweet on the palette with lots of toffee and caramel and a hint of alcohol. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick resinous mouthfeel. A touch on the sweet side, but I could drink these.

Draft @ Yard House, Dedham, MA. Served in a pint. Excellent full white and lace real well down the glass. Nose is a ton of fruity hops, grapefruit, tangerine and citrus rind. Flavors of biscuit malt, grapefruit, light orange zest and light earthiness with a smooth, lingering moderately bitter finish. I like the flavors here. Maybe not enough bitterness for the killer hop heads but…. I really like the malt / hop balance. Glad to have found this on draft, real drinkable.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Grand Cru in Rhinebeck - 10/2/11

Aroma: The nose is mostly hoppy, some resin, grass, and pine notes, plus a little crackery malts
Appearance: This one pours a mostly clear dark orange color with a foamy and lacy white head
Flavor: The taste has some cracker and biscuit malts, to go along with the grass, pine, and resiny hops
Palate: The body is medium, the carbonation is soft,it has a sticky, resiny mouthfeel, and a long dry finish
Overall Impression: Overall, this is a pretty good DIPA. It may even be a little underrated based on the rest of the reviews I'm seeing. Honestly, it is fairly on style, and fairly well-made. I like this one. The resiny, sticky sweetness works pretty well for my palate.
