Brewed without compromise, taste our heritage in this crisp golden ale with distinct drinkability. Subtle spice and herb notes from the hops and yeast come together over a light cereal grain foundation to provide a fresh easy drinking ale. The original Nova Scotia Ale and the oldest continuously brewed beer in North America: “Those who like it…”

Can, 5%. Rough lagery aroma, hint of fruit. Clear golden colour. Small white head. The flavour has a citric hop note, hint of fruit. Quite watery. Not a good example of IPA.

(bottle) pale yellow with medium white head, taste and aroma mostly grain and corn, no hops; blatant case of misrepresentation - IPA??? right... not a bad light beer

Bottle. Golden with a white head. The label said "IPA" but the beer was more like a lager. Malty with not that much hops. Unfortunately, quite a boring beer.

Pours yellow into a shaker. Bright white head recedes to skim surface. Mild malt aromas. Sour lemon upfront with a dry, abrupt slightly bitter finish. Not an IPA.

Bottle at the Faculty Club, University of Toronto, courtesy of MSF. Cloudy orange yellow with a large white head that leaves quickly and has good lacing. Banana and bubble gum aroma with a bit of citrus. Slightly sour, nice hops, well balanced with malt. Decent body for an IPA. Overall, acceptable, but not special.

Pours golden. Tastes more like a generic lager than an IPA. Faint hops, malts, wheat. Light body. Watery mouthful. Still above average for a macro beer.

Drank piles of this last year while stuck in Regina, of all places, in the fall. So the best course of action was to buy a case of beer and get drinkin’. It’s quite average stuff, half-decent aroma of grains and alcohol, okay colour, okay taste. Very drinkable but there’s little to differentiate this from so many others on the market.

Cask @ Black Bull, Toronto. Dark yellow colour, small white head. This is not an ipa, indeed. Skunky lager malts and faint hops in the aroma. Flavour has sweet malts and some hops.
