Brewed without compromise, taste our heritage in this crisp golden ale with distinct drinkability. Subtle spice and herb notes from the hops and yeast come together over a light cereal grain foundation to provide a fresh easy drinking ale. The original Nova Scotia Ale and the oldest continuously brewed beer in North America: “Those who like it…”

Bottle in hotel at Waterloo Canada, this beer is poor beyond belief, and should be pulled up by trade description, presenting itself as an IPA on the label, this is a fizzy tasteless lager style beer, go hops, no bitterness and no flavour

Bière plutôt pale. Une bière correcte à boire en camping. Sans distinction particulière.

Originally rated February 2005. Keith’s IPA has been brewed since 1820 in Nova Scotia, Canada. It pours a pale yellow colour with a nice foamy white head and some good lacing. Carbonation is quite active. The nose is of bread and some malt. Its taste is very smooth, mostly corn and... well not much else. Not much hop tasted, which means almost no bitterness. More of a pale ale then an IPA. I think this beer has changed a lot in the last few years. I remember it being stronger in taste. One of Canadians favorite alternative to Labatt Blue and Molson Canadian in bars. I prefer it in bottles, then in cans and got tired of it on draft.

34.1 cL bottle in Toronto Airport. Pours clear and golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma is fruity and light hoppy. Bitter, mild fruity and slight cornish. A bit bland for an IPA. Mild light fruity and perhaps even yeasty into the finish. Light bitter.

tastes like sour water. this got trendy in western canada and people think its different but its really the same chemical schlock as molson. aftertaste turns offensive after gathering in your throat for a few chugs . and to think i paid ten bucks for a tall can at a blue jays game.

Can. A clear, golden beer with a small, off-white head. Fruity and grainy on the nose, with some yellow apple scents. The flavor goes down the same path, but is slightly more interesting, finishing with a rather short grainy and fruity finish. Medium body, lacking on carbonation. A rather poor one, some off-flavors too, I wouldn’t mind staying away from this for the rest of my life. 110513

Had a drought at The Royal Oak, Ottawa. Pale yellow, clear appearance, spongy off-white head, fresh fruity aroma, slightly hoppy taste, mild carbonation, long finish. Enjoyable beer.

Location: 12 oz can courtesy of my buddy Jordan, 5/4/11
Aroma: Malts/grains, a little hops, citrus, and unfortunately there might be a hint of corn there too
Appearance: It pours a completely clear pale golden-orange color with a small white head
Flavor: The taste is a little more interesting than the nose with some floral and citrus hops
Palate: This is fairly watery on the mouth with a tingly carbonation and an unappealing finish
Overall Impression: Sorry Jordan, I know this was one of your favorites when you use to live in Canadia, but I don't get it man! While I did describe the flavor as more interesting than the nose, the end palate is kind of poor, so I can't really give it a higher score. Writing the words "India Pale Ale" on the sides of this can is a bit of a sham, and has to hurt the overall score, because it is an insult to a great style to call this an IPA. If they had called this "Alexander Keith's Slightly Hoppy Blonde" I would have probably scored it higher (but not much). I'm glad to see it isn't listed as an IPA on Ratebeer, but that doesn't fix the label. Now, with 5 of these left, I'll probably pass these off on some friends.

12oz Bottle picked up in Halifax. Pours out a light crisp straw topped with a small head. Aroma was of light floral notes and toast malt. Taste was also light hop and light malt. Pretty much just a standard AB brew.
