Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. Pours a dark amber with a little camel colored head. Taste is light malt that is a little bready. The body is light and watery and aroma is nice. Beer is ok, but I prefer other beer.

Chestnut brown with a bit of red, creamy nitro head. Aroma of caramel and vanilla. Malts are dominant, but are fairly well balanced. Bitter middle with some dark fruit, with a mildly sour finish. Medium body. Not a bad beer, interesting enough, but could use a bit more complexity.

Cedar aroma with a touch of diacetyl. Clear garnet brown with a medium off white head and decent lace. Woody flavor with little complexity. Grassy bark finish. Very sessionable, and do drink it fast, because the diacetyl becomes intrusive as the glass warms.

Reddish mahogany ale with a thin lacing moka head. A nutty caramel aroma, with a bit of butterscotch. In mouth, a sweet malt with light maple and a bit of coffee, and roasted nuts. Medium bodied. On tap at Tidewater Express, DCA, 4.91$ tax included (cheap for an airport bar). Tasted April 15 2008.

How have I never rated this? 12 oz. bottle courtesy of and BOTTLED BY Alraomon. Thanks Sean! Best by March 2009. Pours a ruby brown color with a medium white head. Nutty and slightly metallic aroma. Taste is chocolate, nuts with a creamy but metallic finish. Medium bodied.

Bottle. Dark amber color. So bottle says Amber ale, but it felt a bit more like a Brown ale. Aroma is malts, with caramel. Overall not a bad brew, but certainly nothing special.

Poured a copper brown color with a creamy, nicely lacing white head. Aroma of malt and sugary candy. Flavor is malty and grainy but sweet. Very drinkable but simple.

Brown with almost no head. Smells of burnt coffee and roasted malts... nothing great, kinda thin as well. Flavor is malty and bland. Not a great offering... but drinkable.

Bottle from Dominion Brewing (Not Starr Hill) - Produced on 26-June-2003:
Nice dark amber/bronze colour with a dense tall off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel and a slight nuttiness. Medium-bodied; Mild flavour of malt and spices fading to a clean caramel presence. Aftertaste bittered, but quite clean. Overall, a decent beer, nothing special though! I bought this twelve ounce bottle at Norm's in Vienna, Virginia and sampled it on 21-November-2003.
