Thanks Ryan.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance had a semi - clear but decently caramel color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There was some light lacing sticking around the sides of the glass.
The smell had a nice blend of sweet caramel malts mixing with a fairly decent earthy / English crisp like atmospheric bittered malts.
The taste took those flavors and added an element of nuttiness strolling into the flavoring nicely.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was good for the style and for me as it left a decent creamy massage rolling over my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good offering from Arcadia, makes me miss Michigan but as long as I know the fine gentleman who brought me this I will continue to be grateful for this friendship.

Middle of the road version of a bitter. Nicely hopped, decently bitter. Just not very complex, and not quite bitter enough. A reasonable attempt though.

Sampled on draft at Rivertown Pub this beer poured a chestnut color with a small tan head. The aroma was bitter fruity hops. The flavor was bitter with floral and fruity hops and light tangy malts The finish is long and bitter. The mouthfeel is a bit thin and watery.

tap at the brewpub - Pours amber with a medium sized head. It has a light hoppy aroma. The flavor strikes a nice balance with moderately strong hops and caramel malts. Lively carbonation bubbles on the palate of this solid session brew.

Bottle Pours a a light amber/copper color with a thin head. Aromas reminded me of faint sweet apple cider and light grains. Flavors were slightly woody and fairly sweet with remarkable lack of bitterness and body. Pleasant to drink however but not particularly "S" or "B" Thanks to Ohiodad for this one

Clear copper coloured body with a very thin off-white head. Aroma of pale malt, old hops (this bottle is over a year old), caramel and some cardboard. Light-bodied; Strong astringent hops with some floral qualities and little else. A decent maltiness roams long with some hops that finish strong and bitter. Aftertaste is pungent hops and very little else. Overall, a decent beer, not a great bitter, but good enough to get an average score. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased by my mom from Merchant’s in Dearborn, Michigan on 12-November-2004.

Pours a cloudy brown. There are thing floating in mine. Flavor is very hoppy, almost an IPA. Ok beer but if I wanted a good ESB I would stick with Schlafly winter ESB.

2004 Draft. Good medium-bright orange with some light red hues. Mostly clear. Big white head. Smells of spicey hops, a touch of dry roasted malt. Opens up fluffy, creamy and quite sweet. Caramel malt to the max, but not out of balance. Bitterness comes in late but makes enough of a presence. I was very pleased that there is no astringency from the toasted malt, no overly dry flavors at all. Superbly balanced and while the hops flavor does not present itself as tremendously complex or bitter, it is still quite tastey. Medium bodied, soft creamy mouthfeel, low carbonation.

Lake Superior ESB is like a toned down version of Arcadia IPA. Body is amber, with a thin white head. Aroma is perfumey hops, and flavor is musty, floral hops without any sulfuric element. Not standard for the style.
