A Belgian style, amber in color, based on inspiration from Pauwel Kwak.
A strong copper-colored ale with a mild, sweet malt character. Brewed with lots of Belgian candi sugar and slowly fermented for a month. Sublime.

Recommendation of Dana at Birreria Paradiso, 750 ml bottle. Hazy orange with malty, lightly spiced taste. Interesting, but not great.

750ml corked bottle. Attractive, thick amber color with a huge, foamy head. Up front crispness leads to a sweet, yeasty finish. I find it to be a little different than the draft version, assumably due to refermentation in the bottle. Not a bad thing, actually Improves the beer and makes it quite "Belgian" in mouthfeel. Very fruity and full of candi sugar and yeast richness. Excellent beer from a Baltimore institution, sort of a dry Belgian Amber.

This is an excellent beer. Belgian yeast in the aroma with malt and spices, citrus, coriander, flowers. Sweet flavor with some salt. Orange, and lots of yeast that gives a flavor like a beer from Abbaye des Rocs.

750 ml bottle, corked and caged, from Wine Specialist. Coppery color with a multi-finger off-white head. Aromas of floral hop over lightly roasted malt, with a light spice note. Medium body with frothy, creamy carbonation. Flavor is rather sweet, with light stone fruit and spice; could be a bit of citrus peel. Noticed a light dose of pepper in the finish. Finishes drier than it started. Tasty. Leaves my mouth feeling good.

Cloudy copper out of the tap, with small ring of lace - very musty, earthy, barnyardy aroma - this quality is quite present in the flavor as well, along with a pastry-like yeastiness - slight warming spices, a bit of tart funk way in the background - medium-sweet, with slight fruity esters - an odd, out-of-place hop bitterness makes it a little less enjoyable - otherwise not too bad.
