With the hops and malt fighting for contention, Haymaker IPA won’t back down. The rich, malty base provides the windup for the hops’ crisp, bright citrus flavors. Go toe-to-toe with this well balanced and devilishly drinkable IPA, and this double dry-hopped phenom will knock you out.

Bottle: Cloudy amber with a thin white head. Bready, caramel scent. Taste is sickly-sweet orange malt, caramel malt..... Bready, piney... Pronounced leafy bitter.....not a good balance with the initial sweetness.

Bottle. Sour milk, orange, caramel malt, weedy grass, and orange peel aroma. Amber with moderate but short lasting head. Mildly sweet orange, caramel malt, and mildly bitter weedy grass/orange peel flavor. Okay body.

Sampled from the tap at New Bohemia. Pours a clear golden amber with a white head that dissipates to the edges and laces. Aroma has sweet citrus with a touch of bitterness and a strong earthy grain backbone. Flavor starts with a touch of sweet citrus but is mostly bitter grass and earthy bread.

12 oz bottle @ home, courtesy of those wonderful Bierkoning people. Enjoy by date was 07/25/14, so more than three months past. Nice clear amber color. Off white head, stiff as whipped cream, with good retention and lacing. Aroma’s: bready & caramel malts, some fruit, light resin. Retronasal there’s hoppy acidity, bready malts and bitterhops. Flavor is moderate to full bitter, with just a light malty sweet backbone. Alcohol doesn’t feel like 6.5%. Body is light to medium. Finishes a bit dry, with a long lasting herbal bitterness. Still not bad.

From a 12 oz bottle shared in Bozeman MT. Pours a clear copper with a massive off white head. Fruity hop nose. Flavors of high plains prairie grass. Crisp earthy finish.

bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a dark amber with an orange hue and loads of chunkies floating around. Hmmm.... Aroma of caramel malt and dank hops. Taste is medium bitter. resinous hops and a little honey. Full bodied with a thick texture. Carbonation on the fizzy side and a decently long finish. Overall, meh. Drinkable but kinda weird. Nothing to seek out.

12 bottle. Unfiltered orange-copper color. Steady creamy off-white head. Really well balanced. No new schools citra/garlic hops. just a really nice classic American IPA. Drinkable, but still has a nice depth. Straightforward, but well done.

Dark copper color. Thick lacing foam. Herbal, piney hops in the aroma. Bitter hop flavor with dry grass, and a resin like flavor of the hops combined with lightly sweet malt.
