Bottle at home, 10th October 2020. Been after this fecker for a few years. Pours dark brown black, a rim of fuzzy white head. Aroma is barrel, booze, liquorice, caramel and wood. Taste is smooth, well integrated barrel, wood, liquor, liquorice, damp barrel. Delicious all around

Norwegian imperial porter aged in bourbon barrels, with medium thick, pale greyish beige, stable head lacing in shreds over a very dark chestnut brown beer with mahogany edges. Aroma of hard caramel, brown rum, walnut liqueur, hazelnut oil, toffee, cinnamon, 'fondant' chocolate, cold cappuccino, amaretto and indeed bourbon, vanilla-scenting oak wood. Sweet onset, candied dates and figs, yellow raisins, soft carb; full, oily body, 'deep' hazelnutty and toffeeish malt layers with a chocolatey edge and a toasted-bitterish tail but indeed not to the extent that it shouts stout - adorned with lovely, elegant woodiness (vanilla retronasally but soft in tannins), a herbal and deeply buried hop bitter element and aspects of bay leaf and pistachio, warmed by sweet and boozy, but nowhere harsh bourbon. Rich and deep, a tad too sticky-sweet perhaps but complex and delicious, delivering what it promises. Great one.

Bottle @ tasting. Deep dark brown color. Malt. roast and oak in the aroma. Vanilla. Malty sweet flavor with dark chocolate, bourbon and vanilla. Slightly alcoholic, has thinned a bit while maturing on oak. Vanilla and raisin in the aftertaste. Good, more complex as the ’regular’Natt!
