Bottle at home, from the De Molen shop, 18/06/14. Hazed dark orange amber with a decent light beige covering. Nose is candied fruit peel, bitter Seville orange, prunes, dried apricot, light booze fumes, candyfloss. Taste comprises dark fruits, bitter hop pangs, bitter orange, light spice, boozey wash, dark fruits. Full bodied, fine carbonation, boozey rinse and bitter citric rinds in the close.

12 oz. bottle, pours a hazy dark orange with a small beige head. Aroma brings out bourbon barrels, dark fruits, and candied sugar - pretty big n bold here. Flavour is super fruity, with loads of stone fruits, bourbon barrels, candied sugar, and booze. The barrels are used very well here, with a slight boozy burn on the finish. Very well-balanced, well-constructed barley wine.

Bottle. Frothy white good mostly lasting head. Dark yellow colour. Moderate malty and hoppy aroma. Powerfull moderate bitter flavor, Alcohol and barrel present. Long complex moderate bitter finish. Creamy palate.

Bardzo udane piwo. Barley Wine starzone w beczkach po burbonie. Nuta drzewa syropu klonowego. Alkoholowa nuta ale szlachetna. Uderza jednak alkohol i jest wyczuwalnie ale specjalnie nie utrudnia to degustacji. Piana niewielka, a praktycznie brak, do tego malenkie zmetnienie. Kolor jasno pomaranczowy. Nuta wytrawna w koncowce ze spora dawka rozgrzewajacego ciepla.

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein bernsteinfarbenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr malzig, dunkle überreife Früchte, holzig. Geschmack malzig süß, leicht alkoholisch, trockene überreife Früchte, holzig.

Bottle @ joes shared by joes. Clear amber colour, small off-white head. Smells cider, peach, alcohol, glue. Tastes some bourbon, sweet, cider, barley, sweet, malts, alcohol. Full body, soft carbo.

(Draught at Arendsnest, Amsterdam, 2 March 2014) Hazy amber colour with dense, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with apricots, orange marmalade, candy sugar, oak wood and a touch of honey. Malty, fruity taste with notes of dried fruit, apricots, orange peel, candy sugar, oak wood, a touch of bourbon and a fairly sweet finish with a certain alcohol bite. Full body, quite sweet. Thick and rounded mouthfeel. Hardly subtle, but quite tasty. Nice one.

Looks like Bergamot IPA - dark amber, hazy, a bit of foam. Aroma hits it into your face! Strong alcohol, not just alcohol but good scottish whiskey. Single malt. Sweet leathery belt. Taste starts off with some stronger fruit flavours, going over into clear and strong whiskey taste. Dry finish. Very intensive barleywine, barrel ageing at its best.

Bottle from Bierkompass.de, bought in March 2013. Almost clear copper with medium head. Aroma of light berries, wood, malt and caramel. Similar taste. Also some light notes of bourbon. Warming alcohol in the finish. Drinkable.

Proeflokaal Arendsnest, Amsterdam tap: Pours amber brown with an off-white head. Aroma is whiskey, a massive amount of vanilla, and plenty of malt. Taste is slightly sweet. Plenty complex from all the whiskey. Some alcohol burn. Vanilla aftertaste. A good barley wine.
