Bottle at home ... copper ... thin lacing ... soft zezty toffee fruit nose ... oily and very sweet vanilla toffee ... very rich and sweet ... hints of bananna...

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is brown. Aroma and taste are toasted malt, caramel, vanilla, wood, fruits and hops. Warming alcohol in the finish.

330ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark orange with a medium head. Aroma is sweet woody marzipan with hints of bourbon. Taste is sweet with mild bourbon and a hot alcohol finish.

33 cl. bottle poured in to a snifter. Orange-amber with a golden tint. Small, White bubbly head, that faded fast. Sweet aroma with rich caramel malts, spices, vanilla, wood, lots of wood, actually. Bourbon, but not boozy. Taste is sweet. Medium to full body, creamy texture. Finishes sweet with bourbon, Vanilla, marzipan and a spicy note. Dry. Lots of barrel in this one. Nice, but lacks a bit complexity and body despite the 10,2 % abv.

33cl bottle. Bottled on 15th Nov. 12. Label says brewed exclusively for Thorst. Poured dark brown with at thin head. Aroma has dark fruits (plums, raisin), honey and alcohol. Flavor has toffee candy, alcohol, honey and plums. Smooth, almost velvety mouthfeel at first. Full bodied. Later alcohol is coming through more aggressively. Not bad, but kind of raw.

Bottle, 10.2%. HAzy dark amber/brown with tiny off-white head. Aroma is malt, caramel, fruit, toasted, oak and a little citrus. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted, medium sweet, hop, oak, little vanilla, medium bitter with notes of alcohol.

33cl from DeMolen online biershop. Bottled on 15-11-2012. Couleur orange opaque, col crémeux beige fin. Arôme présente un côté malt pils, cara, note boisée de bourbon avec un relent léger de caramel. Palais est agréable de barrique sur un profil houblonné fruité voire tropical; ananas, fruits de la passion rappelant le raisin blanc ou un Sauternes léger. Au final, je note ici, encore une fois un aspect barrique trop présent. Parait un peu jeune pour un barley wine et surtout avec une grande présence des houblons. Le boisé laisse un léger côté épicé de chêne, effervescence moyenne avec un bourbon agréable.

33cl Bottle at De Drie Dorstige Herten, as Rhythm & Blues Barrel Aged. Clear copper reddish amber colour, dense off-white head. Aroma of roosvicee, sweet malts, light honey, vanilla, oak, toffee, hint of sugary metal. Flavour is medium-sweet, vanilla, oak, sweet malts, white raisins, watered down roosvicee, light bitter finish. Medium-bodied. Not as good as I hoped, but then again this is not a style I really like.

Tap at Torst. Pours orange with boozy and fruity nose. Tastes of caramel, brandy, light peat, fruitcake, earth, woody and vanilla. Some alcohol warming with light sticky finish.
