33 cl bottle @ home. Black color. Big light beige head, with thin layer retention. Aroma’s: resin, light roast, a bit of butter. Retronasal its’ resinous, citrussy, a bit acidic, drop/licorice and light butter. Flavor is light roasted, light bitter. Light bodied. Finishes roasted, bitter only on the back of the tongue, rather mild. Definitely room for improvement.

33cl Bottle from De Bierkoning. Black colour, big beige-brown head. Aroma of grapefruit, roasted malts, laurel, liquorice, some coffee. Flavour is medium-sweet, roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, grapefruit, soft bitter finish with a hint of resin. Light to medium-bodied. Nicely balanced BIPA, as far as that is possible in this style.

330ml bottle. Quasi black colour with huge, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, brown head. Citrusy, minimally piney and herbal hoppy aroma, roasted dark malty background. Taste is dry dark malty, roasty, citrusy hoppy overtones. OK Black IPA, slightly narrow, limited, one-dimensional though.

Bottle as part of my 1st. Eurpean Secret Santa box. Very dark brown color with thick beige head. Aroma of toasted malt, citrus hops, pines, grapefruit zest. Roasted malt, coffee, citrus hops with grapefruit, grapefruit zest, licorice. Nice hoppy finish with roasted flavors. Good.

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy dark browm to black with a small tan head. Aroma is fruity and dark roasted malt. Grapefruity, peachy and citrusy. Bitter, dark roasted and lingering fruity finish. Ends crisp bitter and fruity.

Tap @ Eindhoven. Dark brown color, short creamy head. Aroma is very fruity, pine, grapefruit, just a hint of chocolatey and roasted malts. Mostly very hoppy. Medium bitter in taste. Very easy to drink, refreshing. More towards IPA, but with a chocolatey hint to it. Very nice.

Draught @ Eindhovens Bierfestival. Opaque black color, small white head. Aroma and taste malts, hops, only slightly roasted malts, slightly fruity, pretty dry and moderately bitter. Medium body and carbonation. Tastes nice but not a very good black IPA.
