Flavour of bread, pumpernickel, whisky, soy sauce, wood, alcohol, more whisky, quite boozy, bittersweet finish. Full bodied. Good, albeit bordering on cloying in terms of sweetness. Draft at Kompaan. Black with a small beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, fudge, chocolate, boozy barrel and slight medicinal notes coming out, developing later with more woody notes, overripe dark fruit and big fudge. Flavour is heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Medium to full bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at Kompaan. Black with barely any head. Lots of scotch, alcohol and licorice up front. Lots of dark chocolate and salty caramel, chocolate salty balls! Porto, coffee, quite sugary, tar, olive oil. Quite sweet, and medium salty. Full bodied with oily feel and no carbonation. Lots of things going on here, interesting beer but very alcoholic.

Tap at Kompaan (Uiltje tap takeover). Black with thin dark tan head. Lots of booze up front. Sweet dark roasted chocolate malts, blackberries, fermented prunes, fresh juicy raisans, whiskey, alcohol, syrup, chocolate salty balls. Very sweet on a low bitter backbone, hint of salt. Heavy body, no carbonation, slick and tasty fruity chocolatey whiskey finish. --- Beer merged from original tick of Al9or1thm - Tobermory BA on 21 Nov 2017 at 20:59 - Score: 7.
