On tap at BBP. Black with a small tan head. On the sweet side with roasted malt, chocolate, caramel and some hints of wood. The body was full and the finish long with warming alcohol.

Clear dark brown to black beer, big creamy beige to brown head, very stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of dark chocolate up front, soft roast, some cocoa powder, bit of vanilla. MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty sweet start, lots of chocolate, soft bitterness, caramelised malts, slightly acidic making a nice balance with the sweet roast. Aftertaste: lots of chocolate again, some caramel, soft roast, some mocha, more chocolate, lovely.

Keg at BBP. It pours jet black with a small light tan head. The aroma is sweet, sticky, sweet chocolate cake dominates, rock road, roasted malt, earth and tangy dark fruits. The taste is bitter - sweet, tangy dark fruits, chocolate cake, Turkish delight, toasted nut, cardboard, earthy roast, charred wood, tar, alcohol warmth and burnt spice with a drying and toasty finish. Full body and fine carbonation. Not much depth for the style. Fine, but no game changer.

Sampled from tap at Borefts 2017. Clear, very dark red to black with a beige head. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty and a little fruity aroma of dark chocolate, caramel, coffee and some cherries. Rather sweet, malty, moderately roasty and minimally fruity taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice and traces of cherries, followed by a medium long, rather roasty-bitter, earthy-dry finish. Medium to full body, creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very nice!
