Draft at Kaapse beer festival. Pours near black with a beige head. Aroma of fudge, wood, orange, chocolate, toffee, vanilla and oak. Flavour is heavy sweet. Full bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at Kaapse festival. Black with medium sized beige head. Marzipan, lots of dark chocolate, grand marnier, candied orange peel, cognac, mint, after eight chocolates. Very sweet. Full bodied with quite some alcohol. Nice stuff but a bit too alcoholic maybe.

Draft @ Tilquin English beer festival, 2015. Likely the best beer of the festival and from what I gather one of the keg that kicked the fastest ... all 20L of it. Our table probably drank 2L of them. Couleur brune foncée, col café au lait laissant un léger huileux au verre. Arôme est juste sublime avec un chocolaté divin le tout accompagné de superbes effluves d’orange et ce bouquet de ’spirit’ de Grand Marnier qui enfonce le clou encore plus loin au niveau des effluves. Palais est également fantastique. Un chocolaté riche et épais qui se marie parfaitement avec le profil orange et un Grand Marnier qui au premier abord reste discret mais devenant plus prononcé au fil de la dégustation. Une bière qui brille sous tellement de point, il fallait juste avoir la patience de la laisser s’ouvrir une bonne demi-heure. Dommage que Magic Rock n’embouteille pas. Question de goût peut-être, mais j’ai adoré cette bière.
