Slurfke is a robust craft brown beer of the ‘double’ type. The roasted malts not only result in a dark color, but offer also delicious aromas and flavors of caramel and coffee. The proprietary yeast accounts for fruity aromas of banana and vanilla.

33cl bottle at the Dream Art Lamp Cafe, Sri Petaling, Malaysia. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, molasses and Red Berry fruits. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a rich, fruity, raisin, liqourice, light warm alcohol, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Great for a cold winter night in Belgium and pretty good for a hot day in Malaysia too!

Bottle online from Beerhouseshop.be. Pours a very dark brown with a thin creamy beige head. Aromas of dry dark fruits, caramel, brown sugar and hints of candy and chocolate. Taste has similar notes to the aroma. Very high carbonation, fizzy palate. Fairly sweet but the carbonation seems to give the beer a nice enough balance. Fruity finish. Thin to medium body. A nice flavoured Dubbel but unfortunately it is too sweet.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear brown with an orange hue and a lacing, creamy beige head. Distinct Belgian yeast in the nose, friendly phenols and dark, dried fruits. Rich, sweet body, brown sugar, rock candy and dried fruits - jammy. No real bitterness but a warming finish. Archetypical Belgian. 061119

330mL bottle at Beer Bank KL, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out raisins, toasted nuts, some Belgian yeast, and a little caramel. Flavour follows suit, with lots of raisins and other dried fruit, along with Belgian yeast, and some candied sugar. Nice expression of the yeast. It's sweet, bordering on cloying. Good, but becomes too sugary.
