Borefts VII. Day 1. Keg. Opaque dark brown beer, no head. Palate is light all things considered but there is zero carbonation. Milky dark malts. Some emulsion paint. Little whiskey soaked dark fruits. Light finish. Curious.

Sampled @ Borefts 2015. Very dark brown to black color, small beige head. Smell and taste malts, brown sugar, some alcohol, lightly liquorice and a hint of leather. Quite heavy, wouldnβt want a full body of this.

Keg at BBF 7, Bodegraven, 25/09/15. Black with no head. Nose is fruit cake, booze, spice, stewed prunes, dates, malty. Taste comprises earthy fruits, molasses, faint liquorice, roasted charr effect, bitter chocolate. Full bodied, semi drying feel with a big dose of warming alcohol in the close . A Big boozey beast but drinks fairly well on the ABV. Decent enough sipper

Black with thin head. Aroma has lots of sweet dark fruits. The flavour has the sweetness of red fruit. Quite syrupy and jammy. Some bitterness is there but itβs very toned down. Alcohol is very well hidden.

Thx! for sharing. Sampled draft @ Borefts 2015. Day 1. Black with small mocha head. Nose is huge cheap sweet chocolate, candy, syrup, sweet candy, quite boozy. Taste starts out quite warming due to the alcohol, gets a bit severe, lacks all nuance, sweet, syrupy, sugary, boozy, sweet molasses, syrupy candy, cheap sugar. Very thick. Very simple but nice, hoped for better but still lovely even if somewhat too boozy with no complexity.

At Borefts. The frozen edition of one of my favorite Molen beers, with a surprisingly thick and stable, pale yellowish beige head and very dark burgundy colour, hazy. Very intense and rich nose of port, Kirsch, chocolate liqueur, candi sugar, beef stock, dates; concentrated candied sweetness in onset with an umami balance to it, low carbo, obviously very thick and oily mouthfeel, deeply chocolatey malt flavours, bit roasted in the end, long and drying finish with the obvious potent alcohol factor to it, brandy-like, but not really burning and in all still well balanced. Superb dessert beer, in small portions.
