Our Grapefruit Sculpin is the latest take on our signature IPA. Some may say there are few ways to improve Sculpin’s unique flavor, but the tart freshness of grapefruit perfectly complements our IPA’s citrusy hop character. Grapefruit’s a winter fruit, but this easy-drinking ale tastes like summer.

Light Amber color. Big big grapefruit nose. Decent acidity in the mouth slightly tart with tons of grapefruit. Big hoppiness and the grapefruit adds fantastic depth, and complments them very well. Decent bitter finish. Awesome.

Pours light bright amber into a snifter. White head with good retention recedes leaving soapy lacing. Smells like breakfast with sweet and sour grapefruit citrus aromas. Sharp grapefruit upfront turning to sweet caramel before returning to grapefruit in the lasting finish. lots o’ grapefruit.

Rosehip, grapefruit, and lilly nose. Hazy amber, medium head. Grapefruit and honey nose, marigold and grapefruit finish. Some grassy notes also in the end. Medium body easy carbonation, nice bitter hop bite. Exactly as billed with a surprising amount of complexity, not a one trick pony. Worth all the hype.

IPA nirvana. Adding the grapefruit takes this to a whole new level. Aroma and flavor are both full of citrus/grapefruit. It doesn’t get much better.

At a tasting, many thanks Ariel, smallish creamy head, a little deep clear gold color, aroma of red grapefruit and some lemon, same traits in flavor with hints of malt in the back, medium to strong but quite mellow bitterness. Very good and really easy to drink, just like a grapefruit juice.

Bottle sample at a tasting at Stas’s place. Thanks Ariel. Clear golden. Big grapefruit aroma with some nice fruity hops underneath. Flavor has light light sweetness but is mostly bitter, with grapefruit and fruity and slightly piney hops. Medium-bodied. Very grapefruity, maybe even a bit too much, but still very nice.
