Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body. Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness. When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Bottle from Dranken Vandewoude, Veurne, Belgium. A golden/yellow coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Sweet, yeasty, orange, lemon, spice taste/aroma. A complex Belgian ale, really good stuff.

My 11.2 oz bottle was found at the Santa Fe Total Wine a few months past. The label seems to indicate a bottling date in August of 2017. The glass of choice tonight is the Teku and after pouring I see a clear amber-gold body topped by a hefty head of snow white foam. The scent is yellow fruit, grain and a small spiciness. I take a drink. It’s all right, as good a pale ale as I can recall. I like the density right off. And I taste ripe apricots, white bread, sweet nectarines, cloves, some hoppiness and a hard candy sweetness. Fairly dry. I’ve liked other offerings from St. Feuillien considerably, this beer only continues that.

Pour is a hazy gold with a huge white head. Aroma is a flowery and parfumy yeast ester. Flavor is clover honey with a nice green herbal hop. Finish is bitter on the back end and no alcohol is felt. A mix between a saison, triple and golden strong. Not a cheap bottle of beer but well worth to try for those that like this style.

Golden pour with a decent head and decent carbonisation. Aromas of hops, herbs, white bread, some banana. Tastes similar with a short bitter aftertaste. The ABV carries the flavours nicely. Liked it.
