Grand Cru is a speciality beer carefully crafted. This extra-blond amber nectar masterpiece undergoes refermentation in the bottle, resulting in a beer endowed with unforgettable character. The secret lies in the unique combination of the most noble hops and the finest aromatic ingredients. Grand Cru differs from other beers in the range by its absence of spices. Its full, white head is light and frothy, and when poured it creates a subtle lace effect. The very pale colour of Grand Cru lends clarity and brilliance to its body. Grand Cru’s delicate nose is a veritable cascade of hoppy aromas with hints of fruitiness coupled with subtlety and sheer richness. When savoured, the first sip is light and intriguing. The next impression is one of a slight bitterness full of captivating nuances. When it hits the palate, Grand Cru creates a lingering moment of hoppiness, rounded off by an intense yet pleasant bitterness.

Shared bottle of St-Feuillien Grand Cru Dry Hopping at Mi2 at Cardinal 12.02.18. Pale and slightly hazy straw colour. Excellent aroma and taste of pale malt, lemon, lime and barnyard. Very dry mouthfeel.

Bottle from Beers of Europe, drunk at home. Light yellow and just a bit hazy, with a loose white head. Gooseberry and slightly sour yeast in the aroma. Sweetish yeasty note with a tart bitterness from the medicinal hop character. Banana and lemon peel in the aftertaste. Strong carbonation. An excellent beer for sure but not quite my cup of tea compared to the rest of their beers.

Klasse.

Clear golden with little white head. Aroma is grass some banana some green stuff some dandelion. Taste is bitter noble hops with some spiky grassy accents. Like a good heller bock. Finish is very spicy and intensely grassy. Still a bit one dimensional. Alcohol well hidden. Good.

Bottle at Delirium Cafe, Brussels. After a few Belgians, it comes across as ’just another strong Belgian ale’. Some pineapple, soap. Should have saved the pennies though on the Grand Crun. Perfectly fine though.
