Bottle at home. Aroma of liquorice, spices, malt, clove, candy sugar, herbal, cinnamon, hint of dark fruits. Flavour is quite sweet with a hint of bitterness in the finish. Body is medium to full. Huge spicy herbal liquorice ’winter warmer’, not generally my kind of beer but this one is well-made and enjoyable.

Aroma is cinnamon, turbid water, candy, spices and some sweet malts. Taste is licorice, sweet malts, cinnamon and other spices. Soft and watery. Not for me. Next one please!

33 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Slijterij, Borger. Dark brown with a beige head. Caramel aroma with some spices and herbs. The typical cloves, star anise, cinnamon, etc. mix. Taste is mediumbitter and body is quite thick. Nice winterwarmer.

Bottle @ home. Dark brown color with a red hue coming through when held into the light, average sized beige to light brown head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is malts, herbs or spices like a Christmas beer, reminds me of anise but I’m not sure. Taste malts, again herbs or spices and again it reminds me of a Christmas beer, anise, sweetish. Solid Christmas / Winterbeer, but it’s not really what I like. Definitely decent though.

33cl Bottle from Vonk. Dark brown to black colour, thin beige head. Aroma of liqourice, molasses, confit fruits, tiny bit of Christmas spices, sweet malts. Flavour is rather sweet but never cloying, a bit sticky, molasses, liquorice, light spicy, light fruity, caramel, soft bitter finish. Medium to full bodied, soft and creamy mouthfeel, doesn’t feel like 9.6% at all. Nice.
