Tart, Refreshing Wheat Ale

Our Blood Orange Gose is an expression of how great a kettle soured beer can be. A careful hand during the souring process and liberal additions of blood oranges during fermentation impart tangy citrus notes that complement the bright gose flavors, creating a complex and sessionable ale perfect for any occasion.

12 oz can at home. Couldnt identify a BB date. this one got rather messy while opening. light yellow lightly hazy color, rather big white head (which dissolves quite quick though). smells citric, funky, a bit dusty, light blood orange notes, spices, light yeast. decent smell. light body, rather bubbly carbonation, light mouthfeel. tastes citric, some herbs, light funk, leathery, lactic notes, only hints of blood oranges. finishes very dry and lightly bitter with notes of citrus, leather and light blood oranges notes. rather good one, did not care so much for the smell but taste is quite nice, very nicely dry. good stuff.

Hazy blond with quick fading head. Aroma is floral, perfumed and citrusy. Flavour certainly has the sharp bitterness of a blood orange. Finish is tangy and has a light salty dryness.

355ml can. Milky, dark yellow-ish, golden colour with small to average, frothy, rapidly diminishing, white head. Blood orange and pink grapefruit aroma, a salty spicy-herbal touch. Taste is bitter and tart, tangy, notes of blood orange, pink grapefruit, hints of lactic acid, citric acid, a herbal-spicy and salty touch, zesty notes of citrus fruit. Very refreshing, a real stimulant.

Can from Biernavigatie, BB unreadable, large sample. Hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma has some grainy malt, wheat, coriander, lemon, grassy, citrus, slight funk. Sweet in taste, some citric acidity, bit fruit peel. Sticky on the palate, slight fruity, citric. Zure matjes. Bit thin. Ok.

355 ml. can @ train. Straight from the can. Nose is very mineral, too mineral, overly lactic, low salt, thinned blood orange. Taste is weird mineral citrus, lactic oily, too mineral, some salt, blood orange juice comes across as being a bit too lemonade like, giving the whole an odd almost salty & mineral radler appeal,… Oily mineral? Not really what I was hoping for when I got this one. I liked the base a lot more than this one.
