Tart, Refreshing Wheat Ale

Our Blood Orange Gose is an expression of how great a kettle soured beer can be. A careful hand during the souring process and liberal additions of blood oranges during fermentation impart tangy citrus notes that complement the bright gose flavors, creating a complex and sessionable ale perfect for any occasion.

Can at home. Slight hazy orange golden with some little grey clumps floating around and short lasting fizzy head. Sour grains, lactic acid, some blood orange, light salt crackers. Medium sour and light salty. Medium bodied with a bit puckering feel and soft carbonation. Pretty basic but refreshing brew.

Strong grapefruit juice, tea, biscuits. Over medium sour w/scoop of salt. Minerallike & chalky texture, watery, thin body. Strong bubbly carb. Feels like a lambic-fanta. Interesting & refreshing after a 6.5 h drive!

On tap. Pours a clear yellow with a medium, long lasting, frothy, white head that laces. Tart aroma of grapefruit, yeast, wheat, coriander and a hint of salt. Sweet flavour of blood orange, grapefruit, wheat, coriander and yeast with a dry, tart, acidic finish. Light body with a watery texture and fizzy carbonation. Not bad.

355ml can into tulip. Sour fruit nose with a hint of salt. Cloudy amber beer with thin white head, big bubbles. Weak fruit juice taste and mouthfeel. It’s all in the palate. WOW! It’s like salty/sour champagne with orange juice. Refreshing, interesting and surprisingly moreish.
