Borefts VIII. Keg. Lightly hazy amber beer, small cream colour head. Mildly spicy rye malts, sweetish too. Becomes almost a perfumey spice. Orange peel hops. Light dry finish. Not bad.

Sample at Borefts 2016. Poured a clear medium amber with a thin white head. The aroma is yeast, fresh tropical fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth woody metallic hop citrus palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

A slow gusher and difficult foamy pour. Aroma has some rye, metal and floral notes. Flavour is a bit too bitter.

Bottled 330ml. -at Pivoteka Zagreb. Clear amber coloured, minimal off-white head, weak rye nose. Sweetish malty, caramel, notes of rye and dried fruits with unbalanced yeasty presence. So-so.

Full pour at the Hanging Bat, Edinburgh. Rye IPA. Dark copper color, lacing head. This is ok, not nearly as good as the smoked stout I had before. Dry and herbal, ok.

Hazy, amber to brown colored, some floaters, medium off white frothy head, nice lacing and long lasting. Aroma is of some malt, rye, some spicy yeast, bit messy fruity mix. Taste is medium sweet malt, rye, spice, again fruity-peachy yeasty mix, medium- bitterness, bready, light toast. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, bit creamy. (bottle, Pivoteka Zagreb)

Bottle from Biernavigatie, bottle date 21-07-16 BB 21-07-18, large sample. Gusher. The continuing story of quality issues of de Molen. This is getting seriously annoying. Cloudy amber color, huge rocky head. Aroma of typical de Molen malty sweetness. Rusty and metallic indeed. Bit toast and roast, soft bitterness. Big carbonation, which annoys hugely. Major disappointment. Huge annoyance. Big negativity points.

33 cl bottle from de Molen shop@home. Deep copper-red (rusty) color, hazy. Firm off white head with some retention. Aroma’s: soft fruit, light resin, herbal, caramel. More caramel retronasal with (unripe) soft fruit (apricot/mango), light resin. Flavor is bready, rye, light sweet, light bitter. Medium bodied. Finishes with a moderate herbal bitterness. Nice.

Thanks kajser! Poured a murky amber-brown body with a tiny off white head. Malt-driven aroma, with distinct, pungent notes of orange, slightly dusty, slightly spicy. Again, malt driven taste, with good flowery and citric (sweet orange) aromatics on top, slightly bitter, nice herbal finish. Very high drinkability, "just right" body basically for the style, something that a lot of breweries don’t get with rye. Quite enjoyable and a lovely beer really for what it is.
