Met Purper hebben we iets ouderwets gezelligs gebrouwen. Dit bier laat zich namelijk het beste omschrijven als een bezoek aan je liefste oma in je kindertijd. Speciaal voor jou bakte ze pannenkoeken met stroop en kaneel, terwijl op de vensterbank een verse appeltaart stond af te koelen. In de gang lag een oud perzisch kleed, in haar linnenkast vond je kleine zakjes met potpourri en in de tuin groeiden rozen en lavendel.
Al deze huiselijke geuren en smaken vind je terug in Purper, misschien wel het meest nostalgische bier dat je ooit hebt geproefd. Het is een droge, licht bittere grisette met een lichte moutbody, maar de aroma’s zijn zo sterk en blijven zo lang hangen dat het bier bijzonder vol aandoet. Laat je niet afschrikken door de lavendel: we hebben hem op een speciale manier verwerkt zodat hij geen zepige bijsmaak geeft, maar juist warm, bloemig en subtiel in de andere smaken zit verweven.

Tap at Indewildeman, Amsterdam, lunch time, 25th April 25. Pours a pretty pink purple. Aroma is fruity, tart, musty, earthy. Taste is tart, fruity, aromatic, refreshing, sweet sour.

Bottle from Drankenhandel Leiden. Aroma is spicy and herbal with lavender, floral notes, citrus, lemon, grass, cinnamon, some bretty funk. Flavour is tartish with a little sweetness and a dry finish. Body is light. Spicy, herbal, funky. Mild tartness, dry. Nice.

Ruby colour with small head.Aroma of sour berries and rose's nice tart dry taste also good note of spices and Rosé wine good sour and well balanced taste nice by style beer.

Bottle. Clear deep ruby. Lavender, lots of gear ns and grain husks, corn tortillas, light tannins, buckwheat, cherries, red wine. Under medium sweet and sour. Medium bodied. Nice like always!

Bottle. Bit hazy orange pink. Berries up front with some herbs and quite some floral notes which I guess is lavender. Medium sour and light sweet. Over light bodied, slightly dry finish. Lovely again.

Opnes with a hiss, but no gushing. Pours a beautiful orange-pink colour, slightly hazy with a small but dense pinkish head that remains almost till the end. Aroma's are sourish, woody, fruit, berries, light sweet, just a hint of lavender. Retronasal: sourish, sweetish, berries - or cherries/cherry stones, light wood/tannines. Flavour is light moderate sour. Light bodied, but not thin. Dry-ish mouthfeel. Finishes with some wood and light bitterness.

7-4-7-4-15 Bottle, #4, jaar 2022, 14 months after bottling. Pours pinkish orange, with a creamy head. Aroma is lactic notes with aronia, dark berries and apple cake with cinnamon, as well as almonds, funky floral notes and wooden barrels. Medium body, with average carbonation. Flavour is lactic notes with berries, almonds and perfume, as well as funky apples, farmhouse notes and wooden barrels. Pitch dry finish.

Sample (Batch #4, thanks fonefan!). Pinkish orange colour with a small off-white head. Aroma is berries, some slight tart wooden tones, some funk and mild sweetness. Flavour is dry berries, wood and some mild funk and yeast to it. Very dry palate.

Batch#4 vintage 2022. There is no picture at ratebeer for this beer, I can't upload a picture, but you can find one at untappd.Aroma is quite sugary sweet and quite herbal. Also fruity. Flavor is wild beer, sweet herbal, citrussy notes, not as sweet as the aroma hinted, almost a bit salty like a gose.

--Sample, thanks fonefan! -- Almost clear blushing golden, no head. Buttery nose with lavender and cinnamon. Citric with light body and clean mouthfeel. Butter and cinnamon on citric acid. No bitterness.
