It's reliable, consistently delicious, and well-made. It doesn't need to pull focus to stand out. It's as much about what it isn't as what it is. The only ingredients are curated malts, traditional hops, good old Lake Michigan water, and time. So much time. We allow this beer to tell us when it's ready to be packaged, and sometimes it needs another minute, but that's ok.

On tap @ Beer Week in Budapest, Saturday session. It's a nice mix of a pils and an IPL, closer to the first in most aspect, but with the hop profile and bitterness of the latter.

Can from Corti Bros. Pours clear gold with a large white head. Aroma is bready and has a bergamot note. Med body. It's bready, but clean. Almost astringently dry. Nicely bitter. I'm still getting an Earl Grey note. Rather different, but very nice.

4 pack this evening. Golden pour fairly frothy white head. Nose is sweet malt and grains. Tastes bready, corn husks, light citrus and floral, lemongrass, malty finish. Crisp enough

Sampled from the tap at GTMW 2019. Pours a clear pale straw yellow with a white head that dissipates slowly to the edges. Aroma has a straw grass combination with a light crispiness supporting. Flavor has a nice crispy grass with a bit of straw and hay supporting.

Pour is a clear golden with a large white head. Aroma is more of a syrupy pale malt. Flavor is more dry and crackery than I thought it was going to be after the aroma. Decent bready malt with a slight adjunct sweetness to it. Decent but not a world beater by any means.

16 ounce can into pilsner glass, canned on 10/29/2018. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy pale golden yellow color with a 1-2 finger dense and fluffy white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, pine, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance of pale malts and earthy hop notes; with big strength. Taste of big lemon, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, pine, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, herbal, floral, woody, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, cracker, white bread dough, biscuit, pine, wood, peppercorn, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome robustness and balance of pale malts and earthy hop flavors; with an awesome malt/bitterness balance, and no astringent hop flavors after the finish. Moderately crisp/clean finishing. Perfectly clean on lager flavors, with no fruity/yeasty notes present. Moderate increasing dryness from lingering bitterness and carbonation. Medium-high carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth and moderately bready/grainy/sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Some lingering resins through the glass. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 4.9%. Overall this is an awesome German pilsner. All around awesome robustness and balance of pale malts and earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, clean, and refreshing to drink with the moderately bitter/drying finish. Very flavorful and not watery for the ABV. Not overly aggressive on bitterness. Perfectly balanced between clean pils malts and German noble hops. Zero residual sweetness with crisp dryness. A really enjoyable offering, and outstandingly spot on style example as expected.
