0.5 l bottle from ’Akzenta’ (Barmen), best before February 2017. Clear, very dark red to black with a thin, slightly creamy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish, slightly roasty-malty and a little grassy aroma of dark chocolate, caramel, toasted nuts and some coffee. Sweetish, slightly roasty-malty taste of dark chocolate, caramel, toasted nuts and hints of coffee, followed by a short, slightly bitter, a bit roasty and minimally grassy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Well-balanced, pleasant stuff!

9/11/12/11/9/11

Bügelverschlußflasche: Reddish-amber coloured, clear, visible carbonation, stable and lacy off-white head, sweetish-toasty nose with a tinge molasses, bisquity traces, too; mild sweet-bitter flavour, quite soft and not too light bodied;pretty thin dark-malty and bitter-toasty finish. Well crafted, but unfortunately quite a watery finish…

(swing top bottle) Clear, slightly ruby brown colour with a mid-sized and tanned foamy head. Earthy and slightly leafy roast-malty aroma with nutty notes and a tinge of marzipan. Moderately sweet and roasty bitter flavour, light to medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderately roasted malt-character with nutty notes, leaves and a touch of molasses and dark chocolate; sweet and mildly roast-bitter finish with a restrained hops character. Decent. 01.XI.13
